Almost four months after its international debut in Brazil, and after being launched in some South American countries under the Colorado nameplate, General Motors has just introduced the refreshed 2021 Chevy S10 in Argentina – the second largest market in the region. The second comprehensive update to the third-generation S10 reaches the Argentine market with more safety and connectivity features than any other midsize pickup on sale in the country.
In fact, although the 2021 Chevy S10 integrates notable improvements in design, convenience and performance, GM Argentina is positioning it as the most technological and connected pickup on the market. In this sense, the 2021 S10 joins Chevrolet‘s family of connected models in the South American country, as the first in its segment with an on-board 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot as well as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.
“The evolution of the S10 is intended for users who spend a lot of time in the vehicle, for whom the trip is as important as the destination,” said Marketing Executive Director of GM South America, Hermann Mahnke, in a statement. “That’s why the S10’s refresh focuses on equipment and solutions that are really useful in the day to day, making it the most connected pickup on the market,” he added.
The 2021 Chevy S10 continues to offer Single Cab and Crew Cab bodies, as well as the same four trim levels: LS, LT, LTZ and High Country. All come standard with the 200-horsepower, Duramax turbo-diesel 2.8L XLD28 inline-four engine, who torque ranges from 325 pound-feet on models with the six-speed manual transmission to 369 pound-feet with six-speed automatic transmission. It’s the only truck in its segment that offers the most powerful engine on all trim levels.
In addition to class-leading technology features, the 2021 Chevy S10 also stands out for its advanced safety features. All versions now include six standard airbags, traction and electronic stability control, hill descent control and hill start assist. From the LTZ trim onwards, Automatic Braking, Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning are also included.
The 2021 Chevy S10 is now on sale throughout the entire dealership network in Argentina. The lineup includes a total of nine variants, classified by body, trim level, transmission as well as rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrains. The range-topping 2021 S10 High Country has a unique front-end design and exterior accessories that set it apart from the rest. The S10 is covered by a three-year/100,000-kilometer warranty and is available with a choice of six paint colors.
The starting prices of the 2021 Chevy S10 in the Argentine market are as follows:
- 2021 S10 Single Cab LS: 1,973,900 ARS (about $24,760 USD at the current exchange rate)

I kind of like that regular cab, long bed S10 they show on their Chevrolet Argentina site. Its 2.8L Diesel would just make it that much better.
I assume there is some really good reason we aren’t allowed to have it here.
Regular cabs are slow sellers in America and Diesels are expensive here so only the diehard fans buy them.
In short not a lot of profit in either. In the mid size segment you just don’t have volume to off set the costs.
We do have the long ced extra cab. It is a nice truck but not for rear passengers.
Yeah I’m sure you’re right. They’d never let you have a diesel in a base model like that either. And for $25k? No way.
I suspect some of the Diesel cost is off set buy the higher content. If they charged you the actual cost of a base truck and a Diesel it would not be much of a truck or value. That 25k might be a base $30k truck.
I was talking about the pricing in Argentina, which appears to be about $25k with the Diesel, although, maybe I’m reading that wrong.
Bring back the Chevrolet S-10 to the U.S to compete against the Ford Ranger and Courier.
I’d argue that the Colorado competes really well agains the Ranger.
As for the Courier or whatever it’s going to be called… Yeah maybe an S10 would be a good idea.
Sure would like to know if in Argentina they have the same safety features as N American production?
Also would really like to know if in their currency they are high priced as they are here in Canada?
That is way to big to carry on the S10 legacy. To tall and looks like a Ford ranger. Chevrolet ever gets serious about bringing back the S10 one of the best trucks ever made they need to bring Aussie’s UTE Holden with the LS and a six speed. Look around as you travel how many S10 do you still see on the road.
Please do not confuse this with the an old S10. This is the overseas Colorado. It is more basic, Diesel only and has a closer bed sides unless it has the fast back add on.
It is the same size as our Colorado I’ve or take an inch.
This truck and the Holden were sisters to our Colorado. GM has on midsized truck and just variations of it. There is no small truck other than the Montana.
I expect the small Ford to be FWD and AWD too so use care what you with for as you may just get a cut down CUV like Ford is doing.
Old small S-10 got bigger engine (4.3 V6) than this new big S-10 (2.8).
Canada, I have a 1999 S-10 extended cab sport side all available options white how I ordered it with the extreme package I bought new all original stored for the winter. Great little truck!
Am I the only one seeing a honda ridgeline?
No I see that as well, but it’s only the “High Country” version with the wing thing in the bed like that.
They show a normal version on the site also.
Hello. Will be possible buy Chevrolet colorado S-10 in Europe?
