GMC Acadia Gets Minor Changes For 2021 Interim Model Year

The GMC Acadia crossover has received a number of minor changes for the 2021 interim model year, or 2021i.

As we reported previously, the biggest change applied to the 2021 GMC Acadia for the 2021i model year is the free-flow availability (that is, unrestricted by any trim or package) of the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gas engine. The turbo 2.0L LSY engine was added to the GMC Acadia lineup for the 2020 model year as an option on the SLE trim level and as standard on the SLT, but with this change, it will be more widely available across the Acadia trim lineup – including on the range-topping Denali.

Also new for the 2021i GMC Acadia is the availability of the Infotainment Package (RPO code Y29) on the SLE, which requires the optional Driver Confidence Package (RPO code ZQ2) to equip. The Infotainment Package includes an eight-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System with Navigation, Bose speakers and HD radio. The contents of the Infotainment package are included as standard on SLT, AT4 and Denali trims.

Also new for the 2021i model year on SLT and AT4 trims is the Preferred Package (RPO code PDO), which has been renamed from the Premium Package (RPO code PCV). This new package includes everything that was in the existing Luxury Package (RPO code WPL), but adds a Heated Steering Wheel and drops the HD Surround Vision camera system. A new Technology Package (RPO code PCH) for the SLT and AT4 is now available, too, which includes head-up display, HD Surround Vision Camera and eight-inch Driver Information Center screen.

There are some different standalone options for the crossover, as well. New 20-inch aluminum wheels (RPO code Q9P) are available as a free-flow option on the SLT, though the Preferred Package must be equipped to order them. Additionally, the optional standalone 20-inch aluminum wheels (RPO code SSZ) on all-season tires have been dropped from the Acadia AT4 options list.
