Just weeks after the launch of the all-new Chevrolet Tahoe in the region, General Motors has just announced that the 2021 GMC Yukon is now on sale in the Middle East. Like its corporate sibling, GMC’s flagship SUV hits Southwest Asian countries aiming to raise the bar in the full-size utility segment with class-leading technology, space and convenience features.
Following the outgoing model’s strategy, the fifth-generation 2021 GMC Yukon is offered in the Middle East in both standard-wheelbase configuration and long-wheelbase Yukon XL. The redesigned SUV hopes to captivate local customers through a higher level of personality and refinement, with GMC‘s latest distinctive design language and specific interior accommodations that makes it the most luxurious and exclusive Yukon to date.
“We are extremely proud to present to our loyal customers in the Middle East the next generation of our flagship SUV – the all-new 2021 Yukon,” said President and Managing Director at GM Africa and Middle East, Luay Al Shurafa, in a statement. “Not only is it more practical, thanks to increased cabin space, but it is packed with a range of premium features and technologies that our customers will love. We are confident the all-new Yukon range will exceed customer expectations and continue to dominate the roads like never before,” he added.
The 2021 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL arrive in the Middle East with a total of four trim levels carefully configured to meet the needs of each customer profile, including SLE, SLT, AT4 and Denali. The traditional range-topping Denali and the first-ever AT4 offer unique personalities that elevate the nameplate to the next level, incorporating the most extensive off-road and technological equipment in the segment as standard.
Inside, the 2021 GMC Yukon can be equipped with nine camera views and a maximum of six high-definition displays that increase driver visibility to an unprecedented level and enhance the ride experience for other occupants. At the same time, the 2021 Yukon is packed with new convenience and safety features, including a dedicated center console cooler, OnStar 4G LTE on-board Wi-Fi, rear pedestrian alert, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and more.
Mechanically, the new SUV offers only offers its two naturally aspirated eight-cylinder gasoline engines in the region: the 5.3L L84 V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, and the optional 6.2L L87 V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission that is operated with GMC’s Electronic Precision Shift push button gear selector.
The 2021 GMC Yukon is already available in the brand’s entire dealership network in the Middle East, the only region outside of North America where the GMC brand and its models are officially marketed. Suggested prices and detailed equipment features for the all-new SUV vary by country and can be found on the GMC Arabia website.
