2021 Chevy Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD Fitted With Hankook Dynapro MT2 Tires

Hankook Tire America Corp. has announced that it will supply the 2021 Chevy Silverado HD and 2021 GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks with Dynapro MT2 tires. The Dynapro MT2 tire is Hankook’s next-generation mud-terrain compound, and is designed to offer both off-road traction, and a restrained on-road demeanor.

“When designing the Dynapro MT2, we took special care in its steering functionality and driving comfort,” said the Head of Hankook Tire OE Division, Hyunjun Cho. “As a result, though it is an off-road tire, its on-road performance is quite pleasant.”

Stand out features on the Dynapro MT2 include V-shaped shoulder scallops, a connected shoulder tread, and stone-ejecting technology for added rigidity and puncture protection.

The latest 2021 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD will come fitted with Dynapro MT2 tires sized at LT275/70R18. The rubber is a new option for the 2021 model year, and comes tagged with RPO code QG3.

The new Dynapro MT2 tires are included with select packages depending on the trim level selected, and require 4WD. Check out the tire availability for the 2021 Chevy Silverado HD and 2021 GMC Sierra HD using the tables below.

“The Dynapro MT2 is equipped with the most aggressive tread pattern that we have ever offered, making it a great fit for the heady-duty Silverado and Sierra,” said Vice President of Central R&D Center, Kijong Kil. “We developed the Dynapro MT2 with a new split mold technology and 3D simulation software that allows for a more aggressive tread with a seamless sidewall that helps reduce noise and improve durability.”

The 2021 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD aren’t the only General Motors models to come equipped with Hankook tires. In fact, Hankook has supplied General Motors with OE tires since 2002, including models like the GMC Terrain, Chevy Equinox, Chevy Malibu, and the Chevy Trailblazer.

  1. Yep. So far 2021 Alaskan Edition is the only truck I’ve seen these on. I was actually expecting GM to run the Duratrac again but this is a nice change up. We just ordered a couple Z71 Sport so those will be interesting to see.

  2. Nice!

Everyone now knows that Goodyear has turned into a terrible company. Definitely don’t use their products.

  3. What tire is the 18″ QF6 option? On the 2020 HD I saw one with Michelins…they seemed a bit aggressive but not like these.

  4. I ordered my 2021 dually SLT with off road tires. I wonder what they will put on at the factory when they build it! The dually normally gets the smaller 17 narrower tires. Guess we will see on delivery.

  5. Anyone know if these will be on the GMC 2500 AT4?

    1. Sorry guys…..i read the article above again, I noticed it says available for the AT4 so went to the GMC website and found this:

      $295 option

Aggressive tread may result in a higher level of noise while driving
Routine tire rotations are highly recommended
Note: This tire has a reduction in conventional trailering capacity.
      See dealer for details
