2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban 6.2L V8 Dual-Exit Cat-Back Exhaust Now Available

Chevrolet Performance has launched a new cat-back exhaust system for the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban SUVs with the 6.2L L87 V8 engine.

The available Chevrolet Performance Exhaust Upgrade System for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban is a bolt-on cat-back exhaust system fabricated from premium 304 stainless steel. The automaker says the system “increases horsepower and torque while unleashing the aggressive sound of Chevrolet Performance,” and also features a “tuned design,” that “requires no recalibration, maximizes the performance experience and helps to minimize drone.”

This Chevrolet Performance exhaust upgrade kit is available in both single side-exit and dual rear-exit configurations. It is also available for the GM 5.3L L84 V8 engine and GM 6.2L L87 V8 engine and for both the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevy Suburban. Customers will want to ensure they order the right exhaust for their vehicle, as the exhaust tube length will differ between the Tahoe and Suburban.

The kit is priced from $2,145 USD for the dual-exit version and $1,645 for the single-exit version. It’s worth pointing out that the single-exit version of the exhaust is only compatible with the less powerful 5.3L V8 engine.

This exhaust upgrade kit is one of several new Chevrolet Performance parts for the new Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban that General Motors added to its catalog this month. These new parts also include an Air Intake Upgrade System and Brembo big brake upgrade kit.

“This core group of Chevrolet Performance upgrades are designed to help increase horsepower, reduce airflow restriction and enhance brake system thermal capacity, all without voiding your New Vehicle Limited Warranty,” the automaker states. “Whichever Chevrolet Performance parts you choose, rest assured that they are seamlessly integrated with your vehicle right from design stage for fit, appearance and compatibility.”

The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and larger Chevy Suburban are on sale now. Prices for the Tahoe start at $50,295, while the Suburban starts at $52,995. The Chevrolet Performance parts mentioned in this article can be ordered online or from an official GM dealership.

  1. Where is the rest of the story? It says it adds horsepower and torque. And yet there’s nothing about how much horsepower and torque it adds.

It’s like that recent story About Corvette production has stopped because they are waiting for parts from Mexico. And the article never said what the parts were.

When will part two of the story be released?

  2. Sam, unfortunately this article is not entirely correct. At this time, there is no GM exhaust upgrade kit for the 6.2L Suburban.

  5. Hey GM Tech Folks,

I’m planning on replacing my 2021 Tahoe existing single Exhaust system with a 2023 Tahoe factory Dual Exhaust system. Found the 2023 Exhaust system from an Owner of a 2023 Tahoe who upgraded their Factory Dual Exhaust to a Cat-Back Performance Dual Exhaust system. Current mileage on my 2021 Tahoe is 27,925. Will the Exhaust system swap-out I’m planning impact my Chevy factory warranty (36months/36,000 miles)? Would appreciate anyone’s thoughts or comments.

    Thanks.
