Modern Chevy Monte Carlo Rendered With Camaro Cues

The Chevy Monte Carlo is one of those nameplates that conjures quite a few memories for some General Motors fans. Produced for six generations in on-again, off-again style between 1970 and 2007, the Monte Carlo sought to combine slick two-door styling and a comfortable cabin with a thrilling experience behind the wheel. The question is this – what would a modern Chevy Monte Carlo look like?

To find out, digital automotive designer wb.artist20 applied the design cues of the old-school Chevy Monte Carlo SS G-body to a current Chevy Camaro, and the result is the rendering you see here.

“If you’re getting Camaro vibes than you would be correct since that’s what I used as the base!” wb.artist20 writes.

Indeed, there are quite a few components to this rendering that remind us of the Camaro – for example, the squared-off headlamps and lower grille insert are quite familiar.

That said, wb.artist20 did more than just add a few nips and tucks to the Camaro and call it a day. The proportions are also longer and chunkier, with an upright rear pillar adding to the flat rear deck. We also like the restyled upper grille section reminiscent of the old Chevy Monte Carlo SS. The paint is done in black, while red striping was added down the flanks and hood.

We’ve seen wb.artist20’s work before, including a modern Chevy Suburban with retro cues, a full-size modern Chevy Blazer, and a modern Pontiac Aztek rendered on top of a 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, not to mention a modernized third-gen Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z. Per usual, this modern Chevy Monte Carlo looks on point.

  1. Raise the roof about 2 inches and lose the slope entirely. Wish they still built cars this size and style.

As a former Chevy owner too, I agree with Former Chevy Owner.

  2. Just stop this waste of time on coupes that never will be and start to render things that will matter like a Bronco fighter.

You can only copy a Camaro so many ways and it will still not sell.

Using the Alpha platform as a starting point, this could be developed and brought to production within 240-30 months; but vehicles like this will depend on who wins in November because it’s DOA if Biden wins as the transition to electricity could be moved forward to 2028 or sooner and spending money to develop this vehicle would be a waste of money unless it’s a EV.

      1. GN the reality is you can raise cooperate taxes but the companies don’t pay them. You know who does? You and I. Companies pass the taxes on in higher cost of products just as they do with the higher min wage.

That money if not taxes often gets rolled over and invested in the company to increase profits and more profits creates more jobs more jobs create more taxes that do not get passed on.

You should not have skipped the economics classes.

        1. That’s not true and thanks to Trump we know this. Trump’s massive corporate tax cuts did not lower the price of goods nor did it spur hiring or even as promised keep jobs in america. You know what it did? Enabled stock buy backs to raise stock prices. Those corporate tax cuts 2 years ago only benefited stock holders. Not consumers or employees. Google it. Do your research. Don’t take my word for it. Trump even acknowledge this and said it upset him and made a rule that any company taking covid loans or bailouts this year would be barred from stock buy backs.

Having said that I don’t know what your reply has to do with the fact that Trump doesn’t pay taxes and us poor folk pay 20%. If you accept that or make excuses for why Trump should be allowed to not pay taxes then you’ve been played. Just another sucker.

          1. What are you smoking?

Inflation was flat. Unemployment was at record lows till parts of the country shut down totally due to local governors and mayors.

The stock holders that benefited were mostly the average people with 401ks invested in the markets.

Trump is a corporation not a person. Just like Warren Buffet who pays little tax just as Bill Gates who pays little tax.

The laws have been on the books for years and they just use how it is written. If you don’t like it you should vote against the people who wrote the laws the last 47 years working as a Senator. Even he knows it is a bad move. He will say anything to get elected.

Well the money I made on my 401k was great the last 3.5 years. If we get 4 more like it I should be set for retirement early.

FYI Google it? Are you a believer that if it’s on the web it is true. Get an education as you my friend are being played for a fool.

      3. GN-He’s never convinced poor people like yourself that they should pay taxes. He and people like me use Subchapeter S-created by democrats and republicans for a reason-smartly implement it to limit our PERSONAL tax obligation and FICA etc. He’s paid more in taxes through qualified dividends than you could pay in 100 lifetimes.

Furthermore 10% of the taxpayers pay over 70% of the federal taxes. 50% of the taxpayers pay ZERO.

Obama used tax dollars to play several rounds of golf daily. Michelle spent more money on travel than any other first lady. Did you ever post that?

  5. Including this present 2017 SS Camaro, I have owned six of them. And, three Montes. Both have strong and weak points. I am sure the WB.Artist20’s rendering of the Monte would include a larger trunk. The SS 2017 is a very difficult trunk to work with.

In addition, it is my hope that WB.Artist20 would include a coat hook above the side window when designing the interior.

      1. GN, you’re politically lost. Quit using GN as a name… and as for EV, there is no “real” energy type safer than one another, each has an issue with mother earth.
Nothing but complainers and if you think the new new green deal manifesto isn’t going to change our business, better read it…go to Biden’s website. He’s denying what he, Bernie, and AOC, agreed too in writing. It’s on his website.
Anyway, I owned a 1976 v8 and 2006 v8 Monte SS and enjoyed each but the 06 was really nice.
Nice rendering but agree with most ,raise the roof line, extend the rear window with a nice flow out back. Show the rear.

For the near future Coupes and Sedans are dead except for the Corvette and the Camaro.
The fact is Mary wants huge profits from SUV’s and Crossovers. Nobody is buying Coupe or Sedans in large quantities. Why becUse they became to Small and to Expensive. GM has been running a race with the German Brands and at the same time the Japanese and Koreans are eating there lunch. The visions of a modern Monte Carlo are dead. There were far to many attempts to recreate the demand that exist in the early 70’s. People that were buying muscle cars and personal luxury cars pretty much died with the second generation Monte Carlo. The Camaro, Mustang, and the Challenger are being mainly being bought by baby boomers as is the Corvette. They are expensive and are not capturing Millennials in any large quantities. They are buying Japanese and Korean brands. Priced cheaper. Just like Cadillac is getting it’s ass handed to GM by the Germans, Japanese, and Koreans. Preston Tucker predicted this back at the end of WWII.

  11. So let’s take an 80s roof design ruin it even more by scaling it way off and sticking onto a modern design car. Try to add a couple more 80s features here and there. Another one of many rendering FAILS! Maybe the hardest to look at yet. How is this horrible rendering even up for opinion or discussion. Why am I even leaving a comment.

  13. More fugly cars from GM. Fire the hacks designing these ugly piles. As a life long GM guy, I can’t convey the disappointment I’ve felt for all the crap that’s been put out the last few years. Aside from the c8 vette, the entire Chevy lineup is hideous. I bought a new ’19 2500hd because the 2020 was so awful looking.

Oh yeah….STOP putting that black pasty crap on the truck frames. It wears off and the frame rusts…..not to mention you get covered in that slop every damn time you touch the underside.

Why have something to compete with Challenger…hmmm…nah….how silly of me…what a waste of time! The Camaro is selling so well…no need to be proactive and add new blood to the portfolio.

  21. Great post made here. One thing I would really like to say is the fact that most professional domains consider the Bachelor’s Degree like thejust like the entry level standard for an online education. Whilst Associate Degrees are a great way to start, completing the Bachelors opens many opportunities to various careers, there are numerous on-line Bachelor Diploma Programs available through institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another issue is that many brick and mortar institutions offer you Online editions of their qualifications but generally for a greatly higher price than the institutions that specialize in online diploma plans.

  22. I really like this. Far better looking than the current camaro or any other “modern” monte carlo renderings I have seen. My only feed back would be to drop the hood and quarters by an inch or two to add better proportion to the roof line. I’d buy one with an Gen V LT in it.
