Modern technology can make life easier and more convenient, but setting it up to work properly can be a drag. Luckily, that’s not the case when it comes to integrating myGMC with Google Assistant, as outlined in the following brief instructional video.
The benefits of integrating myGMC and Google Assistant include several voice-activated features that give users the ability to do things like lock their doors and start the vehicle engine, all without lifting a finger.
To pair these two systems, users must first ensure that their Google Assistant device (including Google Home or Google Home Mini) is properly configured to accept remote commands. Users will also need a 2011 or newer GMC vehicle and an active paid service plan.
Next, open up the Google Assistant mobile app on your smartphone. To note, the Google Assistant app comes pre-loaded on Android smartphones.
With the app open, search for the myGMC Action. After locating it, link your GMC Owner Center account to Google Assistant using your GMC Owner Center email and password. Alternatively, users can setup the system integration online assistant.google.com/explore.
With the systems now integrated, users can send remote voice commands to their GMC vehicle. Simply say the phrase “Hey Google, ask GMC to…” followed by the command desired. Commands include “start/stop my car’s engine,” and “lock/unlock my car.” You can also say “Hey Google, ask GMC for help” for a list of the available my GMC Actions available via Google Assistant.
For those users with multiple vehicles, Google Assistant will ask which vehicle the command is intended. Google assistant will also ask for your PIN to verify the command is valid before it is issued.
Hit play on the brief, 46-second instructional video below for an outline on how to pair myGMC with Google Assistant:

Sounds great, but can the Google Assitant be used on Chevy Silverado’s?
I cannot follow these steps as nothing matches. Is this still available?
Doesn’t work; the instructions are outdated and the website in the link doesn’t exist (error 502)
