Go Anywhere In This Unstoppable Chevrolet Colorado Duramax

General Motors customers who want a capable truck that can take them across some of the world’s most treacherous terrain needn’t look any further than the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. With lifted suspension, Multimatic spool valve dampers, an increased track width and underbody skid plates, the Colorado ZR2 comes factory-prepped to traverse muddy swamps, hot deserts and cold tundras.

There are always those off-road enthusiasts that require a little bit more capability from their vehicles than what OEMs can realistically offer, though. These shoppers can skip right over the Chevrolet dealership and go to Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming Fall 2020 sale, as the auction company has exactly what they’re looking for in the way of this heavily customized 2019 Chevrolet Colorado LT.

This truck started out life as a relatively unassuming Colorado LT with the optional 2.8L turbo-diesel LWN four-cylinder that’s part of the Duramax engine family. At some point, though, it underwent a complete overhaul. The truck now features a full Baja Kits pre-runner setup with long-travel upper and lower control arms and Chromoly axle shafts, which are joined by five-inch Fox Racing coilovers, front and rear Eaton electronic locking differentials and 17-inch XD Series beadlock wheels wrapped in 37-inch Falken Wild Peak M/T tires.

A number of overlanding-focused accessories expand on the go-anywhere attitude of this custom pickup, including a Tuff Stuff rooftop tent, an onboard generator, ARB refrigerator, M Racks roof rack and RotopaX liquid storage containers with mounting plates. Completing the build are high-cut and flared fenders, Bodyguard front and rear off-road bumpers, a three-inch cat-back exhaust and protective rock rails.

It would take a lot of time, effort and money to perform modifications like this to a stock Chevrolet Colorado, so we’re expecting this custom off-roader to attract considerable interest at Barrett-Jackson’s Fall 2020 sale in a couple of weeks. Check out the listing here for some more information and photos on this unstoppable off-road rig.

  1. “Unstoppable”? It will stop when it runs out of fuel!

  2. According to the auction listing it has a 6.8L Duramax diesel engine?
Also the front grille says it’s a Z71. Listing says LT.
    Misleading listing?

    1. A misprint I would think as the Diesel engine is a 2.8 litre. LT is the model while Z71 is added on package. I had a Sierra SLE that had the Z71 package added to it.

  3. Looks like a Mecum Auction in Dallas, not Barrett-Jackson.
