The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Argentina sales decreased by roughly a third compared to the same month a year ago. The results follow similar declines during the other two months of the third quarter.

In fact, the September 2020 performance represents Chevrolet‘s third consecutive decline in sales volume in the Argentine market, after posting a healthy increase in June. This chain of events resulted in the brand falling to sixth place among the best-selling automotive brands in Argentina during September. During the first nine months of 2020, Chevrolet was Argentina’s fifth best-selling brand.

Once again, the vast majority of Chevrolet models sold in the South American country suffered double-digit drops in sales volume, with only two – the Onix and Montana – post gains. The Onix subcompact car comfortably remained the brand’s best-selling model in the country, but this time it lost its leadership in the overall market ranking by being overtaken by six other vehicles.

Meanwhile, the all-new Chevy Tracker also registered a monthly increase after undergoing a local launch in mid-July.
