Early last month, SAIC-GM-Wuling started production of the all-new Wuling Victory – the first model of a new global strategy for General Motors’ best-selling brand in China. After a successful pre-order period, the joint venture is rolling out Wuling’s new midsize MPV in the Chinese market, ahead of its imminent international launch.
The all-new Wuling Victory MPV will arrive in Chinese dealerships in early November, where it will pursue the transformation of the brand’s philosophy – which previously focused on commercial vehicles – by expanding its reach in the passenger-vehicle segment. To achieve this, SGMW redesigned Wuling’s corporate image with the new silver logo that spearheads its journey as a global-market brand for the first time in its 35-year history. Wuling will focus emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, The Middle East and Latin America.
As such, all technical and equipment details of the Wuling Victory in the Asian country have just been announced. In China, the new Victory is being positioned as a six-seat family vehicle, with space and quality comparable to benchmark MPVs such as the Buick GL8 and the Honda Odyssey, but at a significantly lower price range. This makes it a very strategic model that seeks to lead one of the most popular segments, not only in China, but in the entire Asian continent.
Officially unveiled at the 2020 Chengdu Motor Show, the Wuling Victory introduces a new design language and new manufacturing procedures with higher quality standards for the brand’s most modern vehicles. Thanks to SGMW’s volume and increasing levels of scale, the new Victory MPV offers a combination of refined looks, spacious interior accommodations and technology with virtually unbeatable value.
Inside, the Wuling Victory stands out for its roominess and ingenious modularity. The second row has captain’s chairs with independent leg rests, and is equipped with magnetic levitation rails as standard for a first-class travel experience. In addition, the third row can be folded flat in the load floor to further expand the cargo area.
Meanwhile, the MPV’s powertrain consists of a turbocharged 1.5L inline-four engine with two output levels: a basic 145-horsepower unit in more-affordable trims, and a 174-horsepower variant in uplevel trims. The engine can be matched to either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic with eight preprogrammed gear ratios.
The all-new Wuling Victory offers class-leading feature content that includes an advanced dual-screen infotainment system (with a seven-inch instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen), a 360-degree camera system, PM2.5 air purification, power-adjustable and heated seats, a panoramic roof, six airbags and the latest Bosch 9.3ESP stability control system. All this for the following prices:

Make it electric and bring it to North America.
Anyone who live in americans will dislike this chinese car. We have a great research centers and manufacturing facilities!
This is the great thing about slave labor in China, you can stretch your dollar and with a Biden Administration we'll see more of it as more imports from China using slave labor and with the mainstream media looking the other way and not questioning human rights abuses, Biden (Mr Big) and his family will profit directly with every sale.. as GM CEO Mary Barra will be laughing all the way to the bank as she'll get a piece of the pie.
I hope this POS car is never destined to come to USA.
The Chinese Communists are not our friends and should be shunned.
Wishing them a multitude of recalls.
(I'm sorry 'bout the attitude but I don't think GM should be assisting the ChiCom economy.)
1.5L Geo engine in that thing. I don't think it will be setting any new land speed records.
Definitely- we can't take this for granted problem any longer. How to proceed?
Next Buick Century?
