The all-new 2022 GMC Hummer EV Pickup breaks the mold in the off-road truck segment with a brawny all-electric powertrain and cutting-edge technology. With so many forward-thinking features, a vehicle like the new Hummer needs a futuristic aesthetic to go with it. Now, the new GMC Hummer EV design is on display in this series of concept sketches.
Recently posted to social media by the official General Motors Design Instagram feed (@generalmotorsdesign), the Hummer concept sketches provide a fascinating look at the all-electric rebirth of the iconic Hummer brand.
Outside, the GMC Hummer EV design incorporates a tall, wide stance, with broad proportions and a demeanor that exudes attitude and muscle. These concept images show us where the new vehicle design started, as well as the sort of influences taken from the original Hummer models.
Big wheels occupy the corners, mounted underneath a jacked-up suspension and sturdy-looking protective plating underneath the body to ward off bits of terra that may threaten vital components and equipment.
The cabin space in the GMC Hummer EV design manages to balance the simple, clean lines of a truck designed with purpose with the advanced technology of a cutting-edge electric vehicle.The shapes are square and rectangular, complementing the large touchscreen screen and digital gauge cluster providing the necessary bits of information and control.
The details are equally impressive, with bronze detailing in the steering wheel and dash adding a nice splash of color to the white, gray, and black color scheme.
As GM Authority covered previously, the GMC Hummer EV design also comes with a few cool Easter Eggs – for example, the speaker grilles in the cabin are decorated with a topographical map of the Sea of Tranquility, the lunar mare where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo 11 Lunar Module in 1969.

Maybe they should build another variation of the new Hummer to replicate the old Avalanche. THAT would be a pretty sweet EV Truck!
This is why GM, even though it makes better products, never catches up with others that perfectly play the hype game. Simply GM doesn’t know how to create publicity. They employ people that don’t even know GM made the Lunar Rover that used Apollo 15, 16, 17 missions, it’s an electric dune buggy that perfect did its job, a technological marvel for its time, and it still sits on moon surface today. And the company who reference moon and Apollo mission for its new vehicle doesn’t even mention about this incredible connection. It’s shameful.
I like better the rear end in the sketch.
