2021 GMC Canyon Denali Gets The Callaway Supercharged Treatment: Video

Callaway Cars Inc. has applied its tuning expertise to the facelifted 2021 GMC Canyon Denali, rolling out its new SC410 supercharged package for the updated midsize pickup.

The Callaway SC410 package is compatible with all 2021 GMC Canyon trucks equipped with the 3.6L LGZ V6 engine, which produces 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque from the factory. The upgrade kit adds a 1.7-liter supercharger, Callaway Dual Pass intercooler system, Callaway high-flow intake and Callaway sport exhaust to the truck, bumping output to 410 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

The performance differences here are mild yet still noticeable, with the GMC Canyon Denali Callaway completing the quarter-mile in 14.4 seconds at 96 mph, versus 15.6 seconds at 90 mph stock. The upgrade kit also includes some small cosmetic add-ons, such as Callaway-branded door sill plates, Callaway exterior and interior badging and Callaway key fobs.

Callaway upgrade packages differ from regular tuning packages, as they do not void the factory GM warranty. They also come with their own separate three-year, 36,000-mile warranty for all Callaway-installed parts, while a transferable five-year, 50,000-mile warranty is also available for extra. GM vehicles equipped with Callaway tuning packages can also be ordered straight from GM dealers and can be serviced there as well.

The GMC Canyon received some slight updates for 2021, including a different front fascia, tailgate and taillights and new available equipment packages. The All-Terrain trim was also replaced with the new AT4 off-road trim, which gets its own unique front fascia, red tow hooks, off-road tires and other unique equipment. Just like before, a 2.5L LCV four-cylinder serves as the entry-level engine in the truck, while a Duramax turbo-diesel 2.8L LWN four-cylinder is available as well. The V6 is paired with an eight-speed automatic, while the two four-cylinders link up to a six-speed automatic.

  1. The Callaway SC410 package using a 1.744-liter supercharger to increase the base 3.6L DOHC-4v V6 engine output from 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque to an impressive 410 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque; this supercharger upgrade kit reminds me of Cadillac’s LF3 which featured a twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 and generated 420hp (313kW) @ 5750 rpm SAE Certified and will be ideal for any GM vehicle equipped with a 3.6L DOHC-4v V6.

  3. Well the point is they are not going to install a V8 here. The Cafe hit would be much and the added cost would just push more to the full size.

We just need to look at the first gen Colorado. They offered a V8 and it did nothing to stimulate sales. So few were sold they are quite rare today.

I am suspect on these times as Moto Trend and other reviews hit 14.70’s with the stock V6 in crew short 4×4 models.

I expect that this truck is better than the posted times here.

This is very good progress as my truck runs as well as any 350 full size I have had. But I never got a constant 20-21 mpg around town on secondary roads. That is my hsversge over 16,000 miles.

The Callaway is cool but very expensive. If you are handy the Edelbrock SC is cheaper and just as effective

Mallet also has a nice set up.

While these trucks are not ZL1 Corvettes they are far from under powered. The 3.6 runs well once you get that you need to rev the engine. It is not a low end power engine and power is in the RPM you turn.

As it is going the V6 will vanish for a. Turbo 4 with more power and torque on a flat torque curve.

Add to that a tune kit for $400 that adds more power and keeps the warranty in place you will have a very enticing package.

I was anti turbo till I owned one and I still miss it. The Torque even made a Pontiac nothing using only 2.0 liters.

  4. Love the spelling mistake in the video about the warranty. Says Limtied instead of limited.
