2021 Corvette Configurator Goes Live On Chevy’s Website

The 2021 Corvette 3D visualizer went live last month and now the less advanced two-dimensional configurator has also been added to Chevy’s website.

While the 3D visualizer is the superior tool for prospective 2021 Corvette buyers to use to build their dream vehicle, the Amazon Web Services-developed program can be a bit heavy for those on slower computers or with a sluggish internet connection, so this regular configurator is better suited to those customers.

General Motors applied some small changes to the C8 Corvette Stingray for the 2021 model year. The most notable change was the addition of Silver Flare Metallic and Red Mist Tintcoat to the vehicle’s exterior color palette, which replace Blade Silver and Long Beach Red Tintcoat, respectively. The automaker also added a new interior color option, Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow with Napa leather seating surfaces with perforated inserts. Some other cosmetic options were added to the list of extras, too, such as a new Stinger Stripe (available in Edge Red, Strike Yellow or Midnight Silver), additional colors for the Full-Length Dual Racing Stripe package and Strike Yellow brake calipers, among more.

Another major change GM made to the 2021 Corvette is the ability to add the Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension (FE2) without selecting the full Z51 performance package. Previously, the only way to get Magnetic Ride Control was to opt for the Z51 pack, but now Magnetic Selective Ride Control is available across the board on all trim levels. In addition to Magnetic Ride Control, the Z51 package includes Brembo performance brakes, a Performance exhaust, an electronic limited slip differential, a heavy-duty cooling system and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires.

The 2021 Corvette sticks with its naturally aspirated GM 6.2L V8 LT2 engine, as well, which is paired with a standard eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive.

Our example car pictured here is a 2021 Corvette Stingray Coupe painted in the new Silver Flare Metallic hue with the new Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow interior, a Strike Yellow Stinger Stripe, Strike Yellow brake calipers and body color exterior accents. It also has the optional Carbon Fiber Grille Insert, Carbon Flash Painted Mirrors and Carbon Flash rocker extensions.

  4. Why do you call it configurator? It is build and price and far superior to the visualizer in my opinion.

  5. the chevy.com site is really slow loading changes, if it even loads at all. Pertaining to the 2021 corvette.

  6. I agree with Mike McNealy that the chevy.com site is way to slow to load.

  7. Was a little better this morning Jim. Guess the server is getting hit pretty hard right now.
On that note, the visualizer for me anyway keeps generating UI error. Hopefully they will look into this. I like the different views that the build page does not allow. I use them both now to finalize my order when it is excepted from the dealer.

  9. John, what is wrong with you, why do you think that an American car company should post any prices in a foreign currency.
With a fluctuating currency exchange rate how could they keep up with a quoted price add on top of that how could they do it for all the currency’s of countries that import Corvette’s or any other of their products, throughout the world.
