Specialty Vehicle Engineering has been on a tear lately, churning out outrageously powerful muscle cars and trucks ready to dominate at the race track. Now, the New Jersey-based tuner has announced the new 2021 Stage II Yenko/SC Chevy Camaro, a pumped-up two-door with over 1,000 horsepower on tap.
The 2021 Stage II Yenko/SC Chevy Camaro is based on factory Camaro 1SS and 2SS models with the 1LE Track performance Package. As the tuner points out, the 1LE Package is needed “to properly balance the awesome power of the 6.8L supercharged engine.”
Speaking of the engine, the 2021 Stage II Yenko/SC Chevy Camaro’s new powerplant produces 1,050 horsepower thanks to 416 cubic inches of supercharged displacement. The upgraded V8 is based on GM’s Small Block LT1, which, from the factory, produces 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque, and displaces 6.2 liters when equipped in the Chevy Camaro SS.
With well over double the power produced from the factory, the 1LE Package is a must-have for the 2021 Stage II Yenko/SC Chevy Camaro. Highlights from the factory 1LE Package include big six-piston brakes from Brembo, Magnetic Ride Control, an Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, and performance-tuned suspension with unique springs, bushings, and stabilizer bars.
The 1LE package also adds new Recaro performance front bucket seats, while the exterior is upgraded with a black front splitter and rear blade spoiler.

Specialty Vehicle Engineering says that just 50 examples of the new 2021 Stage II Yenko/SC Chevy Camaro will be produced, each of which will be numbered and will include a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin. Orders can be placed through your local Chevrolet dealer.
For those speed freaks that prefer pickup truckss to muscle cars, Specialty Vehicle Engineering also recently unveiled the 750-horsepower 2021 GMC Syclone, and the 800-horsepower 2021 Chevy Silverado Yenko S/C.

This is something Chevrolet needs to consider as a thousand horsepower would give the Camaro an edge in performance over it’s rivals (like the Ford Mustang and FCA Dodge Charger); it would even be capable of edging out the C8 Corvette in the quarter-mile.
That’s exactly what Chevrolet don’t want a 1000hp Camaro that can out run its flagship Corvette in a quarter mile or anything else. They didn’t like it when the 1987 Buick Grand National GNX did it back then they wouldn’t like now
Seriously doubt that it could beat a C8. HP sells cars, torque wins races. Maybe in a rolling start it would have a chance. These HP numbers are getting ridiculous, Can’t use it on the street.
Yeh, but they are only making 50! Any Joe Blow, could have a Mopar go fast car now days. Hardly anyone will get the chance to pick up a new Yenko. Besides, one can only guess how much each will cost and who you need to be to even get on “The List”.
What is stage 1?
Nice to see GM is kind of, keeping Don Yenko’s name alive. The one big difference now versus then, A COPO was a real sleeper. No real whistles and bells. Just pure horse power and not much else. No special markings at first, then Yenko put on his own decals etc. Most other COPO’s had no markings at all. They were a bit higher in cost, but NOTHING like the Yenko’s of today. The days of “affordable” muscle are, unfortunately, long gone. Glad I still own my 1969 Chevelle SS. Bought it brand new in March 1969, just before Uncle Sam gave me a free VACATION. Long live the muscle car!
I have a 1969 350SS. I only wish it was a YENKO. I really don’t see the 1,000HP being a big seller through a dealership though. No one needs that as a daily driver…just for the track. I will say it looks great.
Other than at the track/strip, 1000hp is no use. Except to run up your insurance.
…1000 horsepower on the street is insanity. Don’t her me wring I love my 67 nova with a 383 stroker..it is fun to have around 400 plus horses. you can never use this power on the street nor should you be able to. if you want a track car, build one. Lots of capable track cars for $30,000. you then get a trailer and a pickup with a camper topper and enjoy your weekends at the track. If your truck is a 4×4 and you’re in the snow belt you plow in the winter and save money fir racing budget. Advantage is you get tax write offs, free advertizing for snow plow, and chances are you will spend less than buying this camaro beast….altough I wouldn’t mind testing 1000 horses….maintain
Camaro does indeed need to do something, but just drop in the LT5 with the 10 speed auto and make it a GT500 killer for 75K.
How much does it cost
minimum 120K, crazy money.
1,000 HP in a car you can’t see out of?!! No thanks.
This horsepower race is getting crazy. As has been stated here, you can’t use it on the street.
Again, Don Yenko is probably turning over in his grave. The nature of the idea is great. But the way GM has gone about the new COPO program, has had NOTHING to do with how it was originally done. Nice cars, but not really in the vain of Don Yenko’s vision. Plus, they are crazy, stupid costly!
This car is a option for the new generation of car enthusiasts who would like a chance at owning a new age muscle car that they could only dream of. Thanks to Chevrolet for turning that dream to a reality and many wonderful memories to come. Keep the “WOW FACTOR” alive.
I say once again… The “New COPO’s” are no where near, the original COPO’s. When guys like Don Yenko, found he could get in through the “Backdoor”, it started a movement. However short lived it was. Now, these cars, are not really streetable. And the “COPO” race cars are no where near able to be registered. Don Yenko, is doing one of two things while at rest in his deep sleep…Turning over in discuss or jumping for joy. I think it’s a little of both. Maybe GM can allow Dealers to do REAL COPO’s again. Just like in the late ’60’s. We can only dream
