Icon Details 1950 Chevrolet 3100 TR 10 Old School Edition: Video

Based out of Los Angeles, California, Icon has been churning out high-end restomods and collectibles for decades now. One of the shop’s latest builds is this gorgeous 1950 Chevrolet 3100, which is featured in the following in-depth walkaround video.

The video clocks in at more than 30 minutes in length, providing viewers with a ton of interesting info, as well as insight into the build process behind this impressive Chevrolet 3100 pickup. The video is hosted by Icon co-founder Jonathan Ward, whose passion and knowledge make the video a joy to watch.

As for the build, this particular Chevrolet 3100 is Icon’s TR 10 Old School Edition, which strikes a balance between old-school cool and new-school comfort and convenience.

Outside, this Chevrolet 3100 looks the part of a lovingly restored pickup, and comes draped in a two-tone paint scheme with green for the bottom half and white for the top. As Ward points out, the dark green dividing line could technically make this paint a tri-tone treatment. And while the front fascia design is definitely familiar, modern touches like LED lighting for the headlamps and amber corner lights give it a little new school flair.

Providing motivation is the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LS3 engine. Previously found in GM vehicles like the Chevrolet Corvette and Chevrolet Camaro, the LS3 in this Chevrolet 3100 produces a relatively moderate 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque. Of course, we use the word “moderate” when judging by the outrageous standards set by the current crop of customs flying around the scene these days, but in an application like this, 430 ponies feels just right.

The cabin is also quite nice, and comes with leather upholstery that wears perfectly with the classic styling seen outside. There’s also a generous application of Dynamat to keep the noise outside the cabin at a minimum.

Indeed, there are so many cool little details to point out in this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 build, it’s best to just hit play on this walkaround video and soak it all in.
