The GM Authority Take

Due to the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, only general sales figures for each brand in the Russian market are currently available. However, we can still see that GM Russia sales rose in August thanks to a strong recovery in Cadillac sales – which strengthens its position as GM’s best-selling brand in that country. In fact, this positive sales result follows a 6.71 percent increase recorded in July.

Although we obviously can’t back up this performance with individual model sales numbers, it stands to reason that this positive result was driven by strong sales of all three Cadillac utility vehicles. Specifically, the refreshed XT5 and the new XT6 that were recently launched in Russia, which didn’t enjoy a normal market deployment through the first six months of the year, and which are strategically important for the brand’s expansion in the Russian market.
