If you’re anything like us, you can’t get enough of the latest GM Design renderings posted to social media. We’ve already got a glimpse of GM’s innovative GMC pickup and GMC TopKick renderings, as well as a cool Chevy Impala concept. Now, we’re taking a look at this futuristic GMC Sierra HD Denali rendering.
Recently posted to the official General Motors Design instagram account (@generalmotorsdesign), this particular rendering shows the GMC Sierra HD Denali in a big, bold, three-quarters view that demonstrates the truck’s combination of muscular attitude and premium refinement. The front end looks highly aggressive, with a wide grille that stretches end to end, as well as C-shaped brackets around the left and right corners. The brackets outline a trio of forward-facing headlamps that illuminate the way forward, while also complementing the stretched-out, horizontal grille insert. Above the primary air intake, we see the Denali badge on display.
Extra signature lighting can be found above and below the primary lighting elements, with a narrow design that once again enhances the GMC Sierra HD Denali’s visual width. We also see extra-thick trim bits for the grille surround and lower intake, the latter of which comes with a faux skid plate element and two chrome tow hooks.
Further back, we see flared wheel well treatments with a familiar hexagonal shape, under which large wheels and tires roll with a polished face. In back, this futuristic GMC Sierra HD Denali runs a dual-wheel setup, with the extra rubber housed underneath massively flared arches.
The profile of this GMC Sierra HD Denali also gets familiar towing sideview mirrors with integrated lighting, while the roof sports a set of orange marker lights. The Denali HD logo is in place as expected along the lower doors.
While this GMC Sierra HD Denali rendering isn’t the sort of thing we’d expected to hit production, it still offers some impressive design inspiration for the final product.

This one and the other one looks like some Knock off brand from India wanted to create a truck and here it is. It also looks like a Hyundai Santa Fe just turned into a truck. Please GM fire the designers who drew this up and the silver India looking knockoff truck
This evokes a transformers cartoon truck. But I won’t be surprised if this unparkable monster makes it to the streets.
I like it! Big, bold and massive! Patent the look before somebody steals it. I wouldn’t take much to change the DENALI letters to FORD.
imagine that is super blingy.
Any design will provoke negative comments. I like it. Massive duals out back show higher tow rating. Now work on the interior.
As a GMC Dually owner, this is way over the top and cartooish.
Gears of war is all I see with this design
I love the look!
Blingy and scary is the beast in this picture. Special order for the “American Opulent” set? I should think so…sober up the design crew and try it again…Even if its a super diesel, It looks like it will run Kenworth and other tractor-trailer companies right out of the market! Electric, perhaps?
Biggest issue is the grill as people will love it or hate it.. another preference is for the letters of DENALI spelled out over the grill.
What is drag co-efficient in that big blunt nose? Looks good but seems impractical.
It’s bold and creative, futuristic even. To many people don’t appreciate change, but they’ll adapt if this is produced and love it.
That front end is KILLER!
Looks like GM needs a new design team.
I think a bunch of people are looking at this as a exact drawing of what would be build when this is only a exaggerated concept sketch.
Folks if and only if they go this way this truck would be toned down a bit. The grill would be smaller the tires not as large and the windshield would be taller. They pump up these drawings to garner emotions.
That way when it arrives you can complain that the truck is not like the drawing too.
The lines here have potential. I would like to see the nose done not in chrome but a nickle satin finish. I would better capture the styling better vs a bunch over over stated plastic chrome. Note most Denali grills now are satin finish and only the surround is chrome.
Bold brash brutish, its a beast!
From the grill back looks awesome. Smooth clean body lines. Grill, not so much. Looks fordish to me!
If only the real thing would have tires of that size!
Looks like a current day truck with a ridiculous cartoon grille and even Less of a windshield (which you’d hardly think is possible). That thing is laid back so far you’d feel trapped inside and more claustrophobic than what we even have now. Next thing they’ll try is gunslit (or no) windows all around with only cameras you have to watch inside on a screen to see out.
I miss the gmt800 and prior trucks that still were comfortable to sit upright and see out of. Plenty of headroom in case of a roll over and you didn’t feel like you were a tall person trapped inside a small car. Even the gmt900 was decent. I’m convinced the people designing the trucks the last couple generations don’t drive trucks.
That’s the thing, this was the concept that the current HD Sierra was based on
Love it
I think the design is terrific but if GM holds to form no matter how many responses they get get they won’t build it Cadillac Escala and others for exp.oh I take that back I think they finally got the ok to build the Escala but they have shown other cars and trucks with fantastic response but they never make it to market,
UGLY, Ugly, Ugly!
Terrible.
But no worse than many actual production trucks a person can buy right now. There seems to be no end to Americas fetish for these grotesques.
How small does a mans junk need to be before he needs one of these to drive to work in?
I NEED THIS ! WHEN THIS COMING OUT ??? IM GOING TRADE IT MY DENALI HD TO THIS I NEED BIGGEST BEAST SEMI ! ARRRRGRRRRRR !!
This truck on a positive note, grabs my attention. My first impression was like the GMC Sierra Terrain HD Concept that previewed some elements (especially with the headlights) for the 2014 GMC Sierra, this Denali concept here in my opinion has truly re-introduced the concept design of cars and trucks dating back to the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s with the massive grilles along with a simple set of headlights (not so much the case now) which raises a question, how far down into the grille must one dive into in order to replace those LED stacks once they burn out, to me that would be pain in the a$$
Car LEDs last between 30,000 to 50,000 hours, we spend about 300 hours behind the wheel each year.
Most Car LEDs are sealed, so it’s the whole assembly that goes when you replace them.
Amen Matt! I think you hit the nail on the head.
So, I ask designers to make sure the interior can fit my power wheelchair. All Terrain Conversions company modifies your Chevrolet and Sierras. I read interior design is being upgraded next year? I had to settle for the 6-speed gasoline 6.6 because the new 10-speed was just too wide for my wheelchair. But, I do like my 2020 over this design, but wouldn’t have a problem with it if you add 4-5 inches in driver area for wheelchair.
Absolutely love this design. It has now become my goal if it rolls out of your production line, I’ll be there to buy it.
