Chevrolet Tahoe Discount Cuts SUV Price By $4,750 In September 2020

Chevrolet Tahoe discount for September 2020 will look familiar to shoppers who have been keeping an eye out for any worthwhile markdowns on the final units of the fourth-generation SUV. Notably, this month’s featured offer reduces the price of all 2020 models by $4,750.

It’s also worth noting that the Bow Tie brand has pulled its manufacturer incentives for remaining in-stock 2019 Tahoe models. The automaker had previously withdrew such offers in June, only to re-introduce the incentives for 2019 models again in July. As such, it’s unclear whether Chevy will offer such discounts again in the future, though we think it’s less than likely.

Incentives

Nationwide Chevrolet Tahoe discount offers in September are as follows:

  • Featured 2020 Tahoe Purchase Offer: $4,750 consumer cash
  • Featured 2020 Tahoe Lease Offer: $549/month for 39 months
    • Applies to Tahoe 4WD LT
    • Ultra low-mileage lease with 10,000 miles per year
    • For eligible current lessees:
      • $4,019 due at signing (after all offers)
      • $0 security deposit
  • 2021 Tahoe Lease Offer: $632/month for 48 months
    • Applies to Tahoe 2WD LS
    • Ultra low-mileage lease with 10,000 miles per year

    • $0 security deposit

Interested shoppers should note that the above Chevrolet Tahoe discount offers will be available through September 30th, 2020. Additionally, General Motors has extended its special vehicle discounts for first responders and healthcare workers on the frontlines of the battle against the COVID-19 coronavirus until the end of this month.

For reference, here are the 2020 Tahoe and 2021 Tahoe trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs, $1,295 destination freight charge included:

2020

  • LS (1LS) – $50,295
  • LT (1LT) – $55,095

The GM Authority Take

As we mentioned, the 2020 model year will be the last for the current-generation Tahoe, since an all-new, next-generation Tahoe will arrive for the 2021 model year. As such, we believe that recent 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe discount offers are intended to incentivize current GM owners to purchase the current model, rather than waiting for the next-generation model or switching to a more modern offering from Ford (Expedition) or Nissan (Armada).

That said, it’s worth noting that, so far, this year’s Chevrolet Tahoe discount offers have been more conservative compared to last year’s, which included an 11 percent discount in March and a 14 percent discount in November.

  1. The 2021 Tahoe is a good looking vehicle and a nice change over from the previous dated front end. GM needs to place the front end of the Tahoe on the Silverado. Though the front end of the Tahoe is a bit blunt, it has a nice taper from the windshield. The Silverado Is in your face, I just cannot get excited about it. I still favor my 2012 Silverado.

What would I choose? If I never had a Tahoe I would go with the old. If I already had one, I would go with the new. Why buy the same vehicle? I bought my 2012 with $5K off during the month of Sept and my 2019 Camaro also with $5k off during November. Right there was a 2020 Camaro, virtually identical, I choose the 2019.
