The GM Authority Take

The decline in Cadillac Mexico sales in August represents a slight drop of one unit on a year-over-year basis. Additionally, the decline represents the luxury brand’s tenth consecutive drop in volume in the Mexico market.

However, despite registering a decline, the August sales performance stands out for being the highest monthly sales volume that Cadillac has registered thus far in 2020 in the Latin country, after reaching historic lows in the second quarter due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The recovery is due to the solid performance of the Cadillac XT4, which has posted 39 sales – its best volume during the first eight months of the 2020 calendar year, solidifying its position as the best-selling Cadillac model in the Mexican market. By contrast, the Escalade and XT5 maintained negative levels of performance, with notable double-digit drops similar to those recorded in previous months of the year.
