All Trims And Packages For 2021 Chevy Tahoe, Suburban Now Available To Order

The introduction of the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban brought complete overhauls (re-engineering and redesign) for both full-size SUV nameplates, with the Tahoe entering its fifth generation, and the Suburban entering its twelfth generation. The production rollout for both models has been a multi-phase process, with certain limitations placed on trims and options with regard to availability. Now, however, all trims and packages for these SUVS are available to order.

As GM Authority has uncovered, all packages and trim levels for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban became available to order with as of September, 2020. Units ordered in this latest phase of production will begin rolling off the line at GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, next month, while units ordered with the new 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine option will go into production in November.

This latest production phase follows the two previous phases, the first of which was focused on the start of production and the delivery of a rich mix of models to dealers. As such, units ordered during the first phase were limited to entry-level and well-equipped models. Following the first phase was a second phase that included all trim levels, as well as all packages for LS, LT, Z71 and RST trim levels, plus equipment like Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and the Power-Sliding Console, both of which were not available to order during the first phase.

Now, however, all trims and packages for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban are available to order.

As a reminder, the 2021 Chevy Tahoe and 2021 Chevy Suburban ride on the GM T1 platform and feature a new independent multilink rear suspension setup. In addition to the new diesel engine already mentioned, both SUVs also offer two gas-powered powerplants, including the 5.3L V8 L84, and the 6.2L V8 L87.

  1. I think the High Country trim with the Deluxe package, the mocha interior and the 3.0 liter Duramax diesel is my ideal trim for the Suburban.

  2. Will there ever be an RST 6.2L Tahoe?? Previous years called it the RST Performance package. I’m holding out for that option. I love the look of the RST, but the 5.3L doesn’t have enough power IMO. I don’t like the look of any other package, except for high country, but I’m not paying that kind of money for a Chevy.

  3. I’ve never purchased a previously unowned vehicle in my life. This will be the first, due to the re-engineered suspension and other updates. We originally were looking to get a fully loaded High Country with possibly the diesel but I refuse to pay $95k out the door and, since this will be primarily my wife’s vehicle, I would be very concerned about her accidentally putting petrol into the tank. For these reasons, and because we’re an adventurous and camping family, we’ll be opting for the Z71 with Air Ride Suspension.

  4. When will Super Cruise be available on Tahoe/Suburban?

    1. Rumor is it will be a couple of years, and it may be the next gen (ultra cruise) by the time it becomes available on the Suburban. Will be interesting to see.

  5. After reading about GMs plans for electric pickups and SUVs I’ll wait as GM is making a huge investment to start production of them next year. According to Motor Trend (January 2020) General Motors is spending over $ 2 billion to retool its Detroit-Hamtramck plant so that it can build its first new electric pickups and SUVs from Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, and Hummer by the END OF 2021. The driving experience will be so much better in an EV pickup / SUV than an ICE. You’ll charge it overnight like your phone with no more gas to buy, enjoy quieter operation and incredible performance (1000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque ), great range, long lasting batteries, and probably cost the same as current pickups and SUVs. This has now become reality as execs say GM will be all-electric “sooner than people would think.” If so the market and value of ICE trucks and SUVs could rapidly decrease.
