The 2021 GMC Yukon broke cover early this year in a special media event in Vail, Colorado, ushering in a complete overhaul (re-engineering and redesign) for the full-size flagship SUV. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2021 GMC Yukon cross rails accessory is becoming more widely available.
The 2021 GMC Yukon cross rails were one of the last accessories to go on sale with the latest fifth-generation model.
The accessory is designed to provide a base for a variety of roof-mounted cargo management accessories. Just a few examples would include a bike rack, wintersport carrier, watersport carrier, and a cargo carrier. The 2021 GMC Yukon cross rails can also be easily removed for quick storage when not in use. What’s more, the system frees up additional space in the cabin by providing an alternative cargo solution.
The 2021 GMC Yukon cross rails were engineered specifically for the latest GMC Yukon with regard to fit, appearance, and compatibility. What’s more, the system still allows the use of the sunroof feature.
Pricing for the new 2021 GMC Yukon cross rails is set at $495, per the item’s listing at the official GMC Accessories website at accessories.gmc.com. The accessory includes all the necessary mounting hardware required for installation, and comes with a warranty that is the greater of either the balance of the vehicle’s bumper to bumper warranty, or 12 months / 12,000 miles.
As a reminder, the 2021 GMC Yukon brings an all-new exterior and interior design, as well as the addition of a new off-road-oriented AT4 model variant. The cabin space offers 30 different safety and driver convenience technologies, while powertrain options include the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87, and the new-for-2021 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. All three engines pair to GM’s Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin is the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Arlington, Texas.
