Following a complete overhaul (redesign and re-engineering) for the 2020 model year, the GMC Sierra Heavy Duty pickup received a few minor changes and updates for the subsequent 2021 model year. In addition to three new exterior colors and a few new wheel options, the latest 2021 GMC Sierra HD also offers a new Black Diamond Edition that bundles together a variety of useful features and aesthetic upgrades, as highlighted in the following post.

The new 2021 GMC Sierra HD Black Diamond Edition is tagged with RPO code JSE, and includes the following content (relevant RPO code listed in parentheses):
- Power-retractable assist steps with LED perimeter lighting (BRS)
- Premium front floor liners with removable carpet insert (BKF)
- Premium rear floor liners with removable carpet insert (BKE)
- Auxiliary Trailer Camera (TRO)
- Trailer tire pressure monitor sensors (PTT)
- MultiPro Audio System by Kicker (PDV)
- 20-inch high gloss Black painted aluminum wheels (RTJ)
The 2021 GMC Sierra HD Black Diamond Edition package is only available on the Sierra HD 2500 Crew Cab Denali 4WD, and the Sierra HD 3500 Single Rear Wheel Crew Cab Denali 4WD models. The package also requires Ebony Twilight Metallic exterior paint (GB8), the Denali Ultimate Package (PEC), and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine. The package is not compatible with any LPO wheel options.

Pricing is set at $2,990, excluding all other required packages and options. It is also worth noting that the 20-inch high gloss Black painted aluminum wheels (RTJ) included with the package are exclusive to Black Diamond Edition models.
Further additions for the 2021 GMC Sierra HD include HD Surround Vision and Bed View camera technology, which are now included as standard on the Denali trim. What’s more, the Sierra Heavy Duty AT4 will now offer 18-inch mud Terrain tires and an available off-road high clearance step accessory, much like the Sierra 1500.

Those steps look more flush than the existing power steps on the 1500. That would be awesome.
I wish that I could get the Black Diamond Edition on the 3500 DRW!!!
It sucks that you can only get the black Diamond edition with black exterior paint. Those wheels would look good on a different color truck.

Just got this in the 2500 BOY OH BOY WHAT A TRUCK!!
We got a 2500 black diamond 2021 from Don Franklin in Somerset Ky, trailer turn signals or hazard lights don’t work, they have ordered a piece for the truck, so far we have wasted 3 weeks that cost 70 some thousand dollars and can’t use it for what it was purchased for, what a waste messing with these people.
