2021 Chevy Silverado’s Multi-Flex Tailgate Can Play Your Favorite Tunes

General Motors recently revealed the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500, and with it, the new configurable Multi-Flex tailgate system, providing official confirmation of GM Authority’s earlier exclusive reports. Just like the GMC Sierra’s MultiPro tailgate feature, the new Silverado’s Multi-Flex tailgate comes with a variety of configurable positions that add comfort and functionality. Additionally, the tailgate also offers the same Kicker sound system as an available accessory, providing an opportunity to crank up the tunes wherever you may go.

Just like the sound system offered with the GMC MultiPro tailgate, the system offered with the 2021 Chevy Silverado’s Multi-Flex tailgate operates independently from the truck’s in-cabin stereo, utilizing either a wireless Bluetooth connection, or wired USB connection. The system integrates directly with the inner tailgate panel, and pumps out 100 watts of sound thanks to two four-inch coaxial drivers and a small amp, which means it should have enough power for just about any outdoor listening experience.
Operating the system is easy – just use the built-in buttons to select the track and volume level desired. The system will also be rugged enough to handle whatever is knocking around in the bed, and thanks to to the system’s low-draw power supply, there should be enough juice to listen for hours. Once you’re done, simply fold the tailgate up, and the stereo will automatically shut down.
