General Motors introduced the Cadillac XT6 luxury crossover for the 2020 model year, with the latest 2021 model year slated to receive several small changes and updates, including the addition of the new Luxury base trim level, two new exterior color options, and a new 20-inch wheel option. Critically, the 2021 Cadillac XT6 will also offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be standard across the 2021 Cadillac XT6 lineup.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the benchmark smartphone integration systems on the market today. When used, customers are no longer required to use a cable to connect their smartphones to the vehicle infotainment – rather, the system will automatically connect once the pairing procedure has been completed.
For those customers who prefer to use a cable, wired smartphone functionality will still be included with with the 2021 Cadillac XT6.
Pairing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with wireless phone charging (also known as inductive phone charging) completely eliminates the need for cables with regard to in-vehicle smartphone use. It should be noted that wireless phone charging is standard on Premium Luxury and Sport trims for the 2021 Cadillac XT6, while the new-for-2021 Luxury trim still requires a cable to keep smartphones topped off.
The addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the 2021 Cadillac XT6 follows on the heels of the features’ addition to the 2021 Cadillac XT5.
As a reminder, the 2021 Cadillac XT6 began rolling off the line last month at the GM production facility in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Under the hood, the Sport and Premium Luxury trims draw motivation from the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gas engine, which produces 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the new-for-2021 Cadillac XT6 Luxury utilizes the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine.

Wireless charging isn’t standard on a Cadillac with a trim level called Luxury? They couldn’t afford to add that $2 part?
I hate when the do crap like that. It’s like that base model 2021 Trailblazer that doesn’t have cruise control. Actually it’s worse. It’s a lot worse because this is a Cadillac and cruise control probably costs like $10 to add.
