Nothing beats the sights and sounds of a live car show, but given the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, big crowds are just too dangerous, leading to the cancellation of the 26th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise. Luckily, there’s an online substitute called the Woodward Dream Show set to kick off next week, offering enthusiasts a similar car show experience, but from the comfort of their home.
The Woodward Dream Show is presented by the Pontiac Motorsports Exposition, and although the event is not a direct response to the canceled 2020 Woodward Dream Cruise, it does present a nice stand-in for those vying to get their fill of some gas-powered excellence.
The Woodward Dream Show will span three days and will pack in heaps of four-wheeled goodness, all from M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. The show will include “a series of epic virtual events,” encompassing a wide selection of enthusiast-favorite automobiles, such as hot rods, muscle cars, and supercars. Events include a Hot Rod car show with judges handing out awards in 13 categories, time attack racing on the track, a classic car show, and a parade of the 50 best vehicles in attendance.
Although in-person attendance is an invite-only affair, anyone with a web connection can tune in to watch the event go down as it happens, with color commentary and virtual hosts leading the way.
“All the cars. All the fun. No ticket needed,” the event description reads.
The Woodward Dream Show is set to commence Thursday, August 13th and will run through Saturday, August 15th. Check out the free live streaming via at the link below.
Amidst a sea of canceled events this summer, the Woodward Dream Show looks to make for at least one fun option, and could be the perfect pairing while wrenching in your garage or enjoying your favorite beverage.
Meanwhile, the annual Woodward Dream Cruise will return next year. The Dream Cruise was called off in June, with officials voting against holding the event, citing public health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officially, the Dream-cruise will not proceed, but most cruisers don’t need official endorsement/permission to cruise!
Betting that it will be not much different than years past.
