GM says “OnStar Business Solutions brings four distinct product offerings together – OnStar Safety Services, OnStar Vehicle Insights, API & Data Services and Wi-Fi.” Operators can choose which of these services they want, as well, with various safety and data products available under the OnStar Business Solutions banner.
The OnStar Safety Services includes items such as 24/7 access to an OnStar advisor and Automatic Crash Response, Stolen Vehicle Assistance and Remote Access. Telematics insights it can provide include vehicle tracking, vehicle health, driver performance trip summaries, while its API and data services can help fleet operators gain a better understanding of when and how their vehicles are being used and how they can improve worker efficiency.
“We understand that every fleet operation has its own needs and goals and that there isn’t one perfect fleet management solution for everyone,” said OnStar’s director of business solutions, Michelle Calloway. “We created OnStar Business Solutions so our fleet customers can go to one place to learn about all of our products and offerings and choose the option that will best keep them protected, connected, informed and in control.”
“OnStar Business Solutions offers services that give small business owners and fleet managers meaningful insights, actionable data, and the confidence they are maximizing their ROI,” the automaker also said in a statement.
In addition to vehicle insights and safety solutions, OnStar Business Solutions also includes the automaker’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, which can give remote workers access to high-speed internet even when on a remote job site. OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi can can connect up to seven devices to within 50 feet of the truck, car or SUV.
