Lifted Chevrolet Silverado Taken Out By Walmart Stop Sign: Video

Lifted trucks can be a lot of fun. Take them off-roading, and they’re in their element, bashing through muddy troughs and climbing steep inclines with ease. The thing is, adding a lift kit can make a vehicle slightly more difficult to maneuver around tight turns and narrow corridors, as evidenced by the mangled front end on this Chevrolet Silverado.
This video is brief, clocking in at a little over a minute in length, but it does show some of the aftermath of a collision between the lifted Chevrolet Silverado and one very stubborn stop sign. Shot from the passenger seat of a passing vehicle, we get a rotating view of the poor Silvy pickup perched on top of the sign.
According to the video description, the incident occurred August 2nd, 2020, in Columbus, Ohio.
“My husband and I had just gone grocery shopping for our family when we heard a huge bang and a large commotion when we walked outside we saw this craziness!”
By the look of it, the driver of this lifted Chevrolet Silverado misjudged a corner in the parking lot, cutting it too close and smashing into the stop sign. It’s possible that the driver lost control while driving over some wet bit of the parking lot, as judging by the puddles, it appears as though it had recently rained.
Regardless, the results are pretty clear. The lifted Chevrolet Silverado now rests on top of the stop sign, its driver-side front wheel jammed underneath it while bits of the suspension hang from underneath the wheel well. It looks like the driver and some of his buddies are milling around while a store employee snaps a few photos of the truck.
Meanwhile, the stop sign remains still standing. Oh, the irony.
So there you go folks. When it comes to lifted trucks, stick to the rocks and mud puddles, as parking lots can be dangerous.

Looks to me like the wheel came off when he hit the sign and rolled under the truck. That wheel is what’s holding the truck up jammed between the frame and the road. The sign has hardly dented the side of the truck. But it is a good optical illusion.
That’s a pavement princess not a off road 4×4
Zippity dodaa zippity day my big trucks seen its last day. I was just spinning, spinning along when a big bad stop sign got in to my way. Zippity dewda zippity day i may go back to driving the right way
Typical Chevy and their front suspension components lifted from the Sonic parts bin on their HD trucks.
Hey folks hate to tell you this but GM is crap products. I worked there and for a while unloaded rail cars. There is nothing American in them. Steel is from Canada and Mexico. Engine and electronic components from S.Korea. they are just assembled here. We’re being deceived.
Dumbass!
At least no one was hurt.
Well heck, people do that anyways no matter what they’re driving. It just so happens that the sign is secured in a concrete post, and his truck was high enough for it to knock the wheel off. I saw a gentleman’s comment on here about the integrity of GM’s steel. Well, I hate to be the one to say, but all steel is not what it used to be due to being recycled so many times. It can happen to any truck these days.
I drive a truck but a majority of these guys who jack up their cars or have diesel trucks that spew extra smoke out are really assholes. They drive like that too. It is just not my opinion as I have had many people tell me the same thing. This guy was probably being careless and as far as GM cars go, what does this have to do with the make of the car
Lifting a truck is asking for trouble. First, your axle and your drive are still at the same height as before so you can’t even get more real clearance if you go off road. Secondly, you have raised the center of gravity and increased the risk of an accident. Thirdly, unless you have notified your insurer of the modification you have voided your insurance. Fourthly, in most states you are also breaking the law by driving a modified car.
Anybody that hits a 6″ steel pipe full of concrete is going to regret it I don’t care what you drive.
Have you ever seen an 18 wheeler do this with the back trailer wheels? Makes a large BOINK sound and the driver doesn’t know it!
Notorious tie rod issues magnified with the lift. Should have upgraded them while lifting it.
If this stupid ass would have been paying attention and not driving the wrong way on the road he would have been fine
The guy throwing off on gm must drive Toyota or Nissan.
I like in the video where what seems to be the driver is demanding to speak to a supervisor. Like, the sign was there and you hit it. Thats on no one but you and your pavement princess short stuff.
I don’t care what you drive a 6″ steel pipe full of concrete will mess up any vehicle.
“I don’t care what you drive a 6″ steel pipe full of concrete will mess up any vehicle.”
Umm, I’d like to see you rip a spindle off a solid front axle truck like what happens with IFS, as clearly demonstrated here.
Not saying you wouldn’t mess a solid axle truck up, that picture just shows why IFS isn’t heavy duty, no matter how GM tries to sell it. Well, they only try to sell it to light duty truck owners, because 4500’s and up are all solid axle…
I said “Stop”…. No,No,No,
Hold my beer!
I like how they tried to even suggest that the driver lost control on the puddle. That’s not enough to loose control in a otherwise dry lot. Even if he was going fast it’s just plausible, he simply drove into the concrete.
Looks like a ball joint failure to me, the entire spindle is detached, and still bolted to the wheel.
Not surprising, when you jack an ancient truck up to the sky, put oversized wheels and tires on it, but don’t bother to make sure the suspension is actually in decent condition.
I doubt the sign had much to do with what happened—he’s just lucky it happened in a parking lot, and not on the highway.
Not many vehicles can drive away after hitting a 6″ steel pipe full of concrete, Plus he was going way too fast for a parking lot, highway signs would have caused less damage because they are designed to break off their bases to save lives
