GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition Launches In The Middle East

One of the headline features of the current-generation GMC Sierra 1500 pickup is the available CarbonPro bed box, which offers improved durability and functionality over a standard box while also boasting best-in-class dent, scratch and corrosion resistance.

The GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition was only available in the United States and Canada at first, but General Motors has now made the pickup available in the Middle East as well. In addition to the carbon fiber bed box, the GMC Sierra Carbon Pro Edition also incorporates General Motors‘ unique MultiPro tailgate as well. The truck is based on the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 model.

“The GMC Sierra brought the world-first six-function MultiPro tailgate. Adding further functionality and capability the CarbonPro edition, can carry whatever you throw at it, and further demonstrates its strength, space and innovation,”  GMC Middle East brand boss, Daniella D’Souza, said in a statement. “The CarbonPro is made of the same raw material found in seven-figure super cars and even aerospace applications.”

All GMC Sierra CarbonPro boxes are made from a composite called Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). This material is more scratch, dent and corrosion-resistant, cannot rust and is 25 percent lighter than a steel bed. Additionally, the bed design offers best-in-class cargo volume due to the material being much thinner than roll-formed steel. The bed also has indentations for motorcycle tires and two additional tie-down locations over a regular full-size GM truck bed.

Pricing for the GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition in the Middle East has not yet been announced. In the United States, the GMC Sierra 1500 Denali CarbonPro starts at $70,020, while the AT4 CarbonPro costs $66,635. Customers can place an order for the truck at their local GMC dealer immediately.
