Garage Built, LS-Swapped Chevrolet C10 Is A Budget Build Done Right: Video

Most local classic car shows or meets will feature a sea of chrome-laden vintage cars and trucks that have either been painstakingly restored or extremely well cared for. While these vehicles are definitely nice to look at, owners of such vehicles will usually drive them quite sparingly in order to keep the mileage down, rather than drive them hard and risk diminishing their value.

The owner of this Chevrolet C10 that was recently featured on Autotopia LA, William Rhodes, is a different kind of car enthusiast, though. Will wanted a vintage truck, but he also wanted to drive and enjoy it just as he would any other vehicle. When he spotted a two-door Chevrolet C10 long bed with an aluminum block General Motors 5.3L V8 for sale online, he jumped on it – recognizing the pickup as the perfect balance between performance, vintage style and, most importantly, reliability.

Once Will got his new-to-him truck back home, he set to work personalizing it and making further upgrades. In addition to the Small Block 5.3L V8, the truck also has a full Hotchkis TVS suspension setup, Cragar wheels, front disc brakes, Dolphin gauges, red halo headlights and a custom stock car-style rear spoiler. Going forward, he hopes to throw some extra-wide, deep-dish wheels on the truck and wants to convert it into a short bed.

For now, though, there’s no denying that this Chevrolet C10 is very enjoyable to drive. Will puts thousands of miles on it each year and doesn’t have to worry about breaking something if he wants to do a burnout or put the throttle to the floor. Not only is this LS swapped Chevrolet C10 very reliable, anything that breaks would be very cheap to fix.

Hear what else Will has to say about his unique Chevrolet C10 in the video embedded below.
