The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Korea sales rose in a healthy manner in July, making it the second consecutive month that the brand has increased sales volume in South Korea, after recording a 62 percent increase in June. Last month’s positive performance was driven by the very healthy business performance of the locally-made, all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer, which is establishing itself as Chevrolet’s best-selling model in the South Korean market despite various obstacles presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The all-new, 2021 Trailblazer has been responsible for keeping Chevy sales afloat in the Korean market since launching earlier this year.

By contrast, seven of the 11 models offered by the Bow Tie brand in the country suffered notable declines in sales volume, including the popular Chevrolet Spark, which continues as Chevy’s best-selling model during the first seven months of the year. Meanwhile, the Labo small truck was the only Chevrolet model sold in Korea that managed to achieve positive sales figures, with a slight increase of 6.3 percent on a year-over-year basis.
