C7 Corvette Grand Sport Looks Stunning On Vossen HF-5 Wheels: Video

The C7 Corvette Grand Sport took lessons Chevrolet learned when developing the Le Mans-winning Corvette C7.R and boxed them up in a relatively affordable and well-balanced package. With its track-honed aerodynamics package, sticky Michelin rubber and naturally aspirated 6.2L LT1 V8 engine, the Grand Sport is the perfect Corvette for driving purists that want to go to track days, compete in autocross and time attack competitions and attend other performance driving events.
While the C7 Corvette Grand Sport has its own model-specific alloy wheels that are designed specifically for the car, we can understand why someone would want to pull off the factory wheels in favor of an aftermarket set. Vossen recently featured a C7 Corvette Grand Spor on its YouTube channel, showing how the car looks sitting on its Hybrid Forged HF-5 alloy wheels.
We’ve actually already seen how the Vossen Hybrid Forged HF-5 wheels look on the new mid-engine C8 Corvette, but this is the first time we are seeing them on the front-engine C7 Corvette. The wheels look good on both generation of the sports car, in our opinion, though we prefer the bronze finish of these wheels to the gloss black units that were fitted to the C8.
Vossen’s new Hybrid Forged products utilize a process called flow forming to cut down on weight and increase the structural strength of the wheels. Flow forming is a manufacturing process in which the wheel is cast at a thinner diameter than needed and spun at high speed as pressure is applied to the inner barrel of the wheel. This process essentially stretches the aluminum to the shape of the final product, increasing its tensile strength. Vossen says flow forming also allows “for a great range of wheel widths within each design,” which allows it to offer an abundance of wheel sizes for different vehicles.
The Hybrid Forged HF-5 wheel is available in a variety of lug nut patterns and can be installed on both the C7 Corvette and C8 Corvette. See how these wheels look in Gloss Gold on the C7 Corvette Grand Sport in the video embedded below.

The Vossen HF-5 wheels are great looking.. they looked great on the C8 Corvette and the C7 Corvette.
The stock wheels on the C8 is down right awful !!!!. They look to small and does not enhance the look of the vehicle. Having said that, C7 wheels will bolt up to directly to the C8. If I owned a C8 that would be the first mod I would have to do is custom wheels.
Of course they look great, anything is better than the pieces of crap wheels that GM put on the GS. The cast wheels GM put on the C7 Grand Sports are prone to severe cracking. Hence the class action lawsuit. I just got fed up after the sixth cracked wheel and changed the entire set. GM did not and does not care about about these issues as they as well as dealers put the blame on the customer. GM quietly released forged wheels for purchase on their website… approx $3200. They are doing the same thing to C8 owners with the front Frunk opening issue, they will not take ownership of the issue until unfortunately there’s a injury or fatality.
