2021 Chevy Trailblazer Features Dedicated Phone Holder

Cupholders are for cups. They’re designed for cups, they do a great job at holding cups, and they should only be used for cups. Unfortunately, these days cupholders are often conscripted into phone-holding duty, which is certainly less than ideal. Thankfully, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer features a dedicated smartphone holder located in the center console that’s perfect for modern mobile devices.
Before we get into the phone holder in the all-new Chevy Trailblazer, we should first address why cupholders make for such terrible phone holders. Although conveniently placed next to the seat and at arm’s length, cupholders are typically large and round, and definitely not smartphone shaped. As such, they can’t really hold a smartphone in place, and definitely don’t stop the device from moving during cornering, braking or acceleration. What’s more, with a phone in the cupholder, the cupholder can’t be used to actually hold a cup.
The dedicated phone holder in the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer fixes this issue with a simple solution. The latest Trailblazer features a small plastic slot in between the two cupholders in the center console, which is perfectly sized to hold a mobile device securely without placing it out of reach. What’s more, it maintains use of both cupholders at the same time.
We found this feature to be easy and convenient when we reviewed the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer RS on our recent First Drive test.
As a complement, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer also features a small storage “shelf” located just ahead of the front passenger. This shelf comes with a rubberized floor that prevents items from sliding around, and although it is not as secure as the dedicated phone holder in the center console, this shelf could also provide some decent storage for a long journey.
And of course, we can’t forget about the Trailblazer’s inductive charging pad, either. Combined with the optional wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the combo makes for a truly cable-free experience in the cabin.
As a reminder, the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer reintroduces the iconic nameplate as an all-new small crossover that slots between the Chevrolet Trax and the Chevrolet Equinox in the automaker’s lineup. Engine options include a pair of turbocharged three-cylinders, including the 1.2L I3 LIH, and the 1.3L I3 L3T. The 2021 Trailblazer rides on the GM VSS-F platform, with production for the U.S. market taking place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

Another reason why the 2021 Chevrolet TrailBlazer is proving to be successful as it has the little things that can make all the difference in the world and capture a sale.
I like this, but I do have a question. I’m a McDonald’s large Iced tea guy and I like mine with lots of ice. However, that darn cup sweats like a wanted felon with a police officer following him down the street. So my question is how does this keep the water from getting to the phone? In the pics I can’t see the bottom, so I’m not able to tell if there is some raised part to protect the phone. Anyone know?
You could get a smaller size tea and not have to worry about the cup sweat.
Most phones are certified water resistant
Also with the way the phone holder looks, it seems that it will stay separate from
The cup holder thus not allowing water or drink to touch it.
These are going to be a big seller for GM. Not a fan of the SUV/truck hard-on America has, but what a stupid name. No effort at all from the marketing dept.
It is the small details that take a good car to a great car. Great job team.
This vehicle has that aggressive look that makes the bigger Blazer look so good. Sets it apart a bit in the sea of little suvs.
I was gonna a concede and have this as my first Crossover as I prefer sedans, hatchbacks, and wagons. But how it was configured (I wanted an RS or an ACTIV) it was out of my budget at this time. Plus that 3 Cylinder turbo needs a power boost since it’s fuel economy isn’t so great. Due to the fact Chevy no longer makes the Cruze and the Malibu is out of my budget as well, I switched brands. Now I am driving a Honda Civic (my first choice was a VW a Jetta but the dealers pissed me off). Once my income improved and hopefully the trailblazer gets more power, I may return….or just get the blazer instead.
SMDH… YOU’VE Turned the Beloved Trailblazer Jeep into a dam Fiat! Awwwwww, the li cellphone cubby hole…….Put it in a dress why don’t you?
Another crossover with Lambo tail lights. Why must they all look alike?
Love my 2021 Trailblazer and just my Chevy Points to help purchase my mud flaps. My question is though that I just realized the other day, have had my new car for 3 months, why no cup holders in back seat or arm rest in middle of seat with cup holders? Had kids in back and they had none to use, likely no accidents. Can a console be purchased for back seat floor
