2020 Corvette Burbles And Barks With New Touring Exhaust: Video

The 2020 Corvette combines supercar levels of performance with surprising practicality and comfort, making it an ideal choice for enjoying an extended drive. However, that enjoyment can be amplified even further with a little extra bark from the exhaust pipes, and now, AWE Tuning is offering up this new Touring Edition exhaust system that adds exactly that.

Featured in the following two-minute, 19-second video, the new AWE Tuning exhaust system sounds mean, with a deep rumble and burbling idle. Rev it up, and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 engine emits an almost exotic-sounding tone.

According to the video description, the new AWE exhaust system for the 2020 Corvette provides performance gains up to 19 horsepower and 15 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. That said, the company also offers a louder Track Edition exhaust, which means gains could be lower for the more even-tempered Touring Edition exhaust system.

Regardless, the system is manufactured using three-inch CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, and comes with over 30 pounds of weight savings compared to the stock 2020 Corvette exhaust. The AWE exhaust is offered with four 4.5-inch double-walled slash-cut tips, which can be had in either a chrome silver, or diamond black finish.

What’s more, the company states that the exhaust comes with its AFM Valve Simulators.

Pricing for the new system starts at $2,695 for systems with chrome silver tips, and $2,795 for systems with diamond black tips. Pre-orders are open now.

While the 2020 Corvette is offered with a high-flow exhaust system via the popular Z51 Performance Package, some buyers could prefer the sound of this new AWE system. Check it out in action by hitting play on the video below:

As a reminder, the 2020 Corvette C8 rides on the all-new Y2 platform, with production taking place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  6. There was a time when high and whiny meant a very tinny Japanese tuner car. These were distinct from muscle cars, which generally generated a low macho rumble. Yes, there was that time. This sound reminds me very much of those times. These custom exhaust appear to get better and better as time goes by. Custom exhausts though can be viewed in a number of ways, but personal preference and taste have a lot to do with what cat back exhaust system each owner believes is best for his or her car. I really like this particular exhaust system. I like the light weight and I like the low rumbly sound. There still appears to be a bit of that bubbly rumble that so many favor that are produced by cars such as the Lamborghini, etc. I’d have to say, “Great job!” AF
