I’ll never understand the digital pictures they make to show the colors.
Maybe it’s just me because they have been doing it for years, but who came up with this idea and said, “yep, looks just like it”?
Does the new Tahoes not have fog lights?
The jet black with victory red interior I can’t find any pictures at all of that can you tell me where to look thank you Ken
They don’t make Victory Red anymore, not from what I can see. Was the perfect red for a non premium red, in my opinion. Instead they have this slightly too light, slightly orange “Red Hot” crap.
From the side the front end looks like it has an overbite and needs braces. And no fog lights either because of those ridiculous looking fish gill air scoops. I don’t get how this look got approved on the Tahoe/Burb/Silverado. The 3 most important vehicles in Chevrolet’s portfolio aside from the Corvette. They all need a front clip fix. From the doors back they all look fantastic! It’s like the front ends belong on something else.
Is the paint a better quality or is it just more desirable so lets charge more for it? I’m pretty sure the robots do not get paid any more. Yes, some other manufacturers offer optional cost paints (usually on premium European cars) but that isn’t where Chevrolet is today. Chevrolet also produces pickups which are not only always behind Ford but now Ram and Toyota is gaining sales monthly. I’m not certain that charging extra for paint on such a important product for Chevrolet is a smart marketing decision. If it improves Chevrolet buyer appeal and the paint product doesn’t actually cost any more then perhaps its time to stop ‘nickel and dime-ing’ your customer base.
It’s the tintcoat that adds the extra cost (because it adds an extra step in the production process). GM’s been using tinted clear coats on their burgundy shades for years. Red Jewel, Sport Red (on the Cobalt), Crystal Red, Siren Red, Cajun Red, now Cherry Red. I had a Red Jewel TrailBlazer and the touch up paint included the base coat, red tinted clear coat and regular clear coat. The tinted clear coat adds extra depth to the color. Now you know why they charge extra.
The base pigments for reds and oranges usually have a bit of gold flakes in them as well as they are sole sourced only from a supplier in Japan (or at least that used to be the case).
Have they issued a TSB for the AC system yet?
It’ll look great with the Z71.
