For the 2020 model year, the GMC Acadia got a refresh (otherwise known as a midcycle enhancement) consisting of revised front and rear fascias, an updated cockpit, a new mid-tier engine and new 9-speed automatic transmission. Also part of the updates was the introduction of the Denali Ultimate Package, which was not available for previous model years. If you’re not familiar with the 2020 GMC Acadia Denali Ultimate Package, here’s everything you need to know.
Features & Content
The Acadia Denali Ultimate Package includes the following features and content:
- Technology Package:
- Trailering Package
- Factory-installed hitch
- 4000-pound towing capacity
- 7-pin wiring harness
- Class III hitch
- Heavy-duty cooling system
- 170-amp alternator
- Hitch Guidance with Hitch View
- Hitch Guidance
- Dual SkyScape 2-panel power sunroof
- Adaptive Ride Control
It’s worth noting that, in previous model years, most of these features were available as standalone options.
Availability
As the name implies, the GMC Acadia Denali Ultimate Package is available exclusively on the range-topping Denali trim level. And within that trim, it’s only available on the AWD model. Front-drive models need not apply.
Something truly worth noting about this package is that this is the only way to get the Adaptive Ride Control suspension, otherwise known as Continuously variable real time damping. By comparison, the live damping system was a free-flow option on prior Acadia model years.
Additionally, the Denali Ultimate Package became available for the 2020i (2020 interim) model year of the Acadia.
Pricing
The Acadia Denali Ultimate Package is priced at $5,645, but a package discount drops that by $350 down to $5,296.
U.S. GMC Acadia sales increased 12 percent to 99,429 units during the 2019 calendar year. The performance represented the midsize crossover’s second-best annual sales performance, after the 111,276 units delivered in 2017.
After its introduction for the 2020 Acadia, the package will continue for the 2021 GMC Acadia. Notably, the Acadia isn’t the only GMC model to offer a Denali Ultimate Package, as the Sierra pickup and Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs also offer the pack.

Well They just repackaged all the options into one.
My 17 has each and every option shown here including the suspension.
The Suspension actually does a good job and make it handle in sport mode.
Well, it will also make sense if it is offer for the AT4 model for possible soft roading…
You can get everything in this package (plus a few things not available, such as cooled second row seats) in the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade for about $7000 less money, and with a 10 yr / 100K mile warranty to boot.
Bang for the buck there are alternatives to the GMC Acadia Denali especially as there is no special engine option that would take the CUV to another level.
Same old GM average BLAH drivetrain, nothing new here !
Kinda seems like all this stuff in the ultimate package should just be included when you up to the Denali trim.
DONT BUY!! Made the mistake. Traded in 2019 SLT Acadia 40,000 miles. Every morning, grinding noise when braking for the first 10-15 miles. Took back to dealer for scheduled appointment after 3000 miles, with loaner car on confirmation, get there, no loaner car, dealer says, new Premium Semi Metallic Brake Pads, and need to drive at least 15,000 miles to build up a glaze on pads and rotors. They would change oil, rotate ties, and oh yes do the recall software upgrade for the radio. If I chose to sit around and wait several hrs. Also the Adaptive Ride Control was great at first, suddenly now rides like a stiff board. Again, dealer stated would take time for system to understand driving habits. Habits, turn key, drive down highway for touring. Very difficult.
So either the 2021 GMC Acadia Denali Ultimate Package is a joke, or the dealer is a joke.
Thoughts?
I tend to believe it is the dealer.
