Full-Size Chevrolet Blazer Rendered

General Motors reintroduced the Chevrolet Blazer nameplate for the 2019 model year as an all-new midsize crossover. Although the new Blazer garnered attention for its sharp styling, functionality, and range of tech, traditionalists voiced their displeasure over the nameplate’s use on a unibody crossover, as opposed to a body-on-frame SUV like preceding generations. Now, however, an automotive artist has drawn up a full-size Blazer model that looks ready to tackle to the trail.
Posted to Instagram by user @wb.artist20, the new full-size Chevrolet Blazer rendering is based on the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, specifically the off-road-oriented Trail Boss trim level. As such, it adopts the same front fascia styling as the latest Silverado, with squared-off features and C-shaped lighting signatures. The grille section is finished in black, while a pair of red tow hooks sit next to small fog lamps in the bumper. A black Chevy Bow Tie is found front and center in the center divider bar, while a smaller Z71 badge is located in the grille corner.
The profile is particularly attractive, with a two-door body style and large rear glass section. An additional Z71 badge is found on the front fender, and there is black trim around the windows and door handles. The wheels include the familiar split five-spoke design finished in black, while off-road rubber grips the terra. The body also stands tall, giving it all the right stuff to satisfy all those purists out there.
Add the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 to the mix, and we could see this thing become a big hit with fans of older Chevrolet Blazer models.
What are your thoughts on this full-size next-gen Chevrolet Blazer? Does it live up to the reputation of the Blazer nameplate? Let us know in the comments, and make sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Chevrolet Blazer news, Chevrolet news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.
Looks cool, but the 2 door set up wont sell, or i should say wont sell enough.
OMG!!!!!! Please make this the blazer!!! I think you would have a lot more sales with it!!!! I know i would want one and I am the owner of an original k-5!!!!!!
But… 4-doors are too long/bulky, are for nerds and are always LESS desirable.
A k5 blazer never had 4 doors. That would have been a suburban. Now the tahoe did go 4.
That’s actually the idea I had in mind, a K2 with a covered rear. Since Blazer had been taken call it “K2” or “K2 Blazer” maybe “Tahoe Sport”.
The rear part of the door that is black should be body colored, but this would be pretty cool.
In high school I had a 1985 K5 Blazer. I would so love to have a modern version! Let’s make 2-doors cool again!
I would buy the two door version in a heart beat
this looks great,, too bad chevy designed such an ugly blazer that is on sale now,,, i would buy this design in a minute,,, even scaled down to a mid sized suv, with a small block v8 as an option, and the price of the blazer being reasonable… NEW VEHICLES ARE JUST TOO EXPENSIVE NOW,,, BUILD IT IN THE LOW 40’S LOADED AND IT WOULD SELL LIKE HOTCAKES
Does anyone remember why they stopped building these. Because the Tahoe came out and killed the sale of the Blazer.
I truly loved and had hoped to buy a new Blazer when I was older but it was gone before I could own one.
The reality there is no real market for this truck right now. But there is one for a smaller off road model to compete with a Jeep. It would need to be 2 and 4 door. It needs a removable top and it needs a lot of accessories. The Wrangler is sucking up the market from many segments. From muscle cars to CUV models. I see so many women who used to own Mustang convertibles now in open top keeps with the doors off.
Some at GM has really pushed for this but it had been rejected. The Hummer is a start but they need a smaller cheaper model to sell in volume.
Since they used up the other names on CUV models I would just cal, it a K5.
Now please do something meaning full and render a GM Jeep Wrangler competitor.
I always thought that the Hummer 4 would be the Jeep competitor – but we didn’t get there before Hummer had to be sacrificed. The answer may be an electric Hummer 4. With the Wrangler and Bronco now firmly sitting there GM can’t with with a “me too” vehicle. They need to come in with something different. Gas mileage may be the biggest vulnerability these have.
GM should had made a sub-brand like Ford is doing with Bronco.. and having a real off-road suv would be great.. GM is focused so far in the future instead of the here and now it seems.. wanting electric to be the main focus that there is not really any type of sport vehicles besides the Corvette and the Camaro isn’t getting any love.. just it seems like they do a little here and a little there.. Ford has announced the Bronco and nothing from the GM side but two nameplates that don’t live up to its predecessor.
Having owned a 2002 Trailblazer (Still do) and wanting to add something new I purchased a new 2019 Colorado Bison Sept of 2019. It was the nearest Chevy that has body on frame and nearly the size of the original Trailblazer. I also said in a previous month comment that Chevy needed to take a Colorado foundation and make an SUV ZR2 Trailblazer and a ZR2 Trailblazer Bison version. But Ford has beat Chevy to the punch. Australia Holden was able to do it why not NA Chevy?
i had a 1984 k5 blazer and it was a beast lasted for 20 years what a workhorse it was lets bring back the k5 two doors, right now i have a 2017 ss sedan that the ceo at GM had it discontinued what a moron idea was that
I would love to see a full size 2 door real SUV again. I had a 1996 2 door Tahoe Z71 that I took every where. It offered full size comfort but compact handling. I put 274,000 miles on it before selling it.
A new full size two door 4×4 off road package would be great with the 6.2 V8 but even better with the Duramax diesel.
Don’t tease us with a good time like that! The new Blazer is a disgrace to the iconic nameplate. Ford did something right with the Bronco nameplate.
Chevy needs to start marketing the brand as an ownership experience like they used to. Like a Rock, Heartbeat of America, See the USA in a Chevrolet.
Please, no more real people commercials.
Thank you, but i real people commercials.
Now this is what im talking about! A T1Blazer. My idea of the full sized Blazer would have bigger doors and a slightly thicker B pillar at an angle like the old Blazer. The Z71 T1Blazer would be based on the Z71 Tahoe. GM should seriously consider this to flesh out the Tahoe/Suburban product line. Make it so, GM!
Looks like a a single cab (hideous front end) pickup with a topper. Nice. Way to go GM. Its time to learn from your mistakes and listen to your customers.
You realize this is just a render from a random internet dude. GM had nothing to do with this.
It is a sad day for all Americans when GM builds these things with cheap labor in Mexico. Brave PATRIOTS took notice and Queen Mary was forced to remove this from the ballparks.
I hear ya.
I love all these comments about how ugly the front end of the Chevy is, likely made by people sitting in their mom’s basement without a job and with no hopes of purchasing any new pick up truck, much less a Silverado. I’ve had mine about a year, initially I was neutral as to the looks, but was thrilled by the seating position and the performance of the 5.3 L engine. Then something happened that has never happened in 30 years of owning Chevy pick ups. Ford owners started complementing my truck! Two guys told me on separate occasions that it was the first Chevy design they ever liked. And I get more compliments on my Chevy truck than I do on my AMG coupe. And nine times out of 10, I’d rather be driving the truck. So I think Chevy is doing something right. If you’re not in your moms basement, are actually in the market for a truck and don’t like the Chevy, fine; go buy a Sierra or an F150.
Oh look…you can buy a Wrangler, Ford unveiled the actual Bronco today and GM? A render. Garbage.
They should bring back the Full size Blazer! They are Awesome trucks!
Everyone saying GM has no answer to the Wrangler and Bronco are forgetting the Hummer EV coming soon. It was set to debut 2 months after the Lyriq and that’s being shown in August, so we should see the Hummer soon!
Because it doesn’t exist outside of a render.
It looks really cool but it’s basically a big toy. All these people who want body on frame SUV’s should go buy the few models which are left then maybe the manufacturers would design more.
That thing will have 1000+hp, 11000+lb-ft, and cost 100k+. Not 270+hp, 300+lb-ft, and 30k+.
Take my money. I would love a 2 door full size. Arlington doesn’t have capacity and Janesville is long gone. Would have to be a truck plant.
It needs 70’s retro design.
Ok… if you cant make that back window look like the 94 Blazer with Silverado package 4×4…. Then whats the point? Aftet ythe b pilar that window glass should go all the way to the roof. They ruined the 95 models by changing to a TAHOE and that hideous dash. The digital dash was always soooo cool. Who wants knobs?? I prefer buttons
No one wants an offroader with a 4 degree approach angle, chevy needs to drop their horrible fender fang design and front that make these look like a train not a truck. Why do we have square wheel arches its an arch…
