The Chevrolet Open Road sales event, which runs for the duration of the month of July, offers up to 15 percent cashback on select 2020 model-year Chevrolet vehicles.
The two Chevrolet models that qualify for the full 15 percent cashback offer during the Chevrolet Open Road event are the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox and 2020 Chevrolet Trax. This offer is not available with special financing, leases or other existing incentive offers.
Slightly lesser deals are also being offered on the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer, 2020 Chevrolet Spark and 2020 Chevrolet Sonic. All three of these models are offered with up to 12 percent cashback – equivalent to $6,091 off on the well-equipped Blazer RS.
Additionally, a 10 percent cashback rebate is offered on the 2020 Chevrolet Suburban and on “most” trim levels and all model variants of the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado, except for the base model.
And although in June, General Motors ended the 84-month financing program it had put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic confinement period, it’s now available again on select models such as the Equinox and the Trax.
General Motors also says that customers who purchase a vehicle as part of the Chevrolet Open Road sales event will be able to take retail delivery of the vehicle by August 3rd or earlier.
GM’s Q2 sales were down 34% in the second quarter of 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic hammered the automotive retail industry. Incentives like the cashback offers being offered by Chevrolet currently should help bolster sales as GM looks to capitalize on the rebounding economy, though the automotive industry is still expected to struggle throughout 2020.
Interestingly, the Chevrolet Blazer was one of the few GM models that saw an increase in sales during Q2, but GM is still offering cashback on the so-far popular crossover model through the Chevrolet Open Road sales event.
GM is confident that its Shop. Click. Drive. online sales program, which helps consumers search for vehicles at dealership lots in their area, will help drive sales throughout 2020 – even as the pandemic continues to cause problems for the industry and the economy.
“Now, we are refilling the pipeline by quickly and safely returning production to pre-pandemic levels,” said GM’s vice president of sales operations, Kurt McNeil, said. “Having an appropriate mix of the right vehicles combined with the benefits of enhanced shopping technologies such as Shop. Click. Drive., positions us for success in the second half of 2020.”
