Chevrolet Korea Sales Jump 62 Percent In June 2020

Chevrolet Korea sales increased 62 percent to 9,349 units in June 2020 compared to June 2019 results.

Individual model sales performance was as follows:

During the first six months of the 2020 calendar year, Chevrolet Korea sales increased 16 percent to 41,092 units.

After stumbling 11 percent in May, Chevrolet Korea sales increased significantly in June. In fact, last month’s result represent’s Chevrolet‘s best business performance in the past 18 months in South Korea, after the 10,428 units the brand sold in December 2018. This increase enabled cumulative sales in the first half of the year to increase 16 percent compared to the same period in 2019, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The noteworthy jump in Chevrolet Korea sales in June was driven by the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer, which achieved its second-best month of sales to date after the 3,187 deliveries in March, regaining its position as the brand’s best-selling model in the country. Additionally, the Chevy Spark minicar maintained stable sales and the Chevrolet Malibu posted its best performance thus far in 2020 by exceeding 1,000 units sold. In addition, the small commercial vehicles, the Damas and Labo, registered their first sales increase of the year.

For its part, sales of the brand’s imported models remained strong, led by the Chevy Traverse. Chevrolet’s full-size crossover achieved its best sales performance thus far in South Korea, increasing its popularity in the market thanks to the latest marketing campaign showcasing the vehicle as the largest and most robust utility in its segment in the local market.

  1. Malibu has getting lose their attractive in korea. By contrast, Hyundai-Kia alliance is release brand new sedan, day by day. This makes hard to gain profit to GM Korea, with a complex problem. So GM Korea needs to develop Mid-size sedan Independently!
