The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 is great to look at from the outside, but it also has tons of cameras to help passengers see from inside. Now, we’re taking a look at a video overview of the various 2020 Corvette camera views, as provided by Corvette Academy.
Properly equipped, the C8 has up to five different outward-facing cameras. Accessing the various 2020 Corvette camera views can be done via the camera app on the infotainment screen, the front camera button on the center console, or by shifting into reverse.
Viewing the camera feeds via the infotainment screen provides several buttons to easily switch between the different views. These include a standard HD Rear View Camera, which provides a view directly behind the vehicle, rear junction view, which displays the area to the immediate left and right behind the vehicle, and the front overhead view, which displays the view directly in front of the vehicle. There’s also curb view, which looks in front, and to the left and right to make parking easier.
Additional 2020 Corvette camera views are offered with the available Rear Camera Mirror, which provides a view of what’s behind the vehicle without obstruction. Compared to a traditional rearview camera, the Rear Camera Mirror offers a wider vantage point, and there are buttons to adjust the zoom level, brightness, and vertical tilt.
Users can quickly switch between the Rear Camera Mirror and a conventional rear-view mirror as desired. Note that this feature does not work on 2020 Corvette Convertibles with the roof down, as we covered previously.
Finally, there’s the available Performance Data Recorder, which will record high-definition video of your driving experience using a front-facing camera. This 2020 Corvette camera view also includes a number of performance readouts, such as a tachometer, speedometer, steering wheel angle, g-force levels, and more.
