The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 comes with a driver-focused cockpit which includes a long row of buttons placed along the outer edge of the center console. These buttons provide the driver with access to the 2020 Corvette driver comfort features, and now, Corvette Academy is profiling how these buttons work in the following short video.
At just one minute, 22 seconds in length, the video is brief, but does well to highlight the numerous driver comfort buttons inside the 2020 Corvette cabin. The strip includes three toggle switches and up to 14 buttons to control the various features.
At either end of the strip are two standard toggle switches for the 2020 Corvette dual-zone climate control, with the uppermost toggle used to control the driver-side temperature, and the bottommost toggle used to control the passenger-side temperature. Tap these upwards to increase the temperature, and tap them down to decrease the temperature, as indicated by a red and blue arrow, respectively. The selected temperature can be seen in a small digital readout directly adjacent to each respective toggle. Alternatively, the driver can hit the Sync button to set a uniform temperature between both the passenger side and the driver side.
There’s also a fan speed toggle switch located in the center of the button strip. Hitting Auto will set the 2020 Corvette climate system to automatically control fan speed and climate zone to optimize driver and passenger comfort.
Further temperature adjustments can be made with the available heated and ventilated seats, the controls of which are located close to their respective temperature toggles with regard to driver side or passenger side.
The 2020 Corvette’s new cabin layout places the driver at the center of everything, with every feature available at arm’s length. What are your thoughts on the new layout? Chevy designers really went a bit overboard with all of the buttons in the C8 Corvette as one has to wonder whether dials may have helped make easier to do.. although they do give the C8 Corvette a very streamline look.
