Buick Regal TourX Discount Totals Nearly $7,000 In July 2020

During the month of July 2020, a new Buick Regal TourX discount offers an employee pricing discount in addition to a $4,250 cashback rebate for select 2020 models. In some cases, the combined offer equates to nearly $7,000. In addition to the generous headlining offer, the Tri-Shield brand is also offering a $4,250 cashback rebate for select 2019 Regal TourX models. Notably, it appears Buick is no longer offering interest-free financing for 2020 TourX models nor 2019 models.

For those who might not be familiar with the product, the current, sixth-generation Buick Regal will remain in production for the 2020 model year. Afterwards, the nameplate will be discontinued in the North American market. Although the Regal will no longer be offered in the U.S. and Canada, it will still be sold in China where demand for sedans remains significant.

The Incentive

Nationwide Buick Regal TourX discount offers during the month of July 2020 are as follows:

  • 2020 Regal TourX Purchase Offer: $4,250 customer cash + $2,746 employee discount = $6,996 total discount
    • Employee discount based on AWD Preferred model with an MSRP of $38,700
    • Excludes base (1SV) trim level
  • 2019 Regal TourX Purchase Offer: $4,250 Customer Cash
    • Excludes base (1SV) trim level
  • Featured Lease Offer: $475 per month for 48 months
    • Applies to AWD Preferred model
    • Ultra low-mileage lease with 10,000 miles per year
    • $0 down payment
    • $0 security deposit

Interestingly, Buick continues to exclude base 1SV models from the incentives. Shoppers should also note that the above offers will remain valid thru August 3rd, 2020.

For reference, here are the 2019 and 2020 Buick TourX models along with their respective MSRPs, $925 destination freight charge included:

2019

  • TourX 1SV (Base) – $29,995
  • Preferred – $33,595
  • Essence – $35,995

2020

  • TourX 1SV (Base) – $30,295
  • Preferred – $33,895
  • Essence – $35,995

Prospective buyers should note that this month’s Buick Regal TourX discount is on par with offers for the wagon so far this year, and is nearly identical to January’s discount as well as March’s rebate, though it’s a smidge less lucrative than February’s $6,250 offer.

  1. What is Buick doing ??? I have never seen model if they take the initiative to advertise it on TV maybe the car would sale in America. It’s a nice look car, but most like me might not know it exist

    1. With the success of the Outback and the Audi Allroad GM had an oppty to get right in the middle of that mkt but once again, they blew it. The Regal is nice looking but RC is right, very few people even know about it… GM continues to disappoint and frustrate… why is the Sr Mgt Team still employed…. and why are their Communications and Marketing VP’s still there? They enter a mkt then abandon, they enter a mkt then never market the products, they fail and GM runs… this has got to cost millions and I’d say millions wasted… pathetic….

    2. Roy Buick marketed they heavy when they came out so if you missed is you need to pay better attention.

Yes this is a great car and wagon just at the wrong time in history. It is too much car and not enough SUV like for the market.

I recall at the auto show when it arrived it was from and center but it was all alone. I literally could have eat my lunch in it and not been disturbed. Yet the Buick Enclave near by has a line of people waiting to sit in it.

I am not shocked as we have seen a number of wagons put out there but unless they hold some SUV quality about them they fail.

If everyone who said that GM should build a wagon actually bought one it may have been a success. But no most do not back up their delusional ideas and these things fail.

It may be easy to be an armchair CEO on the web but in real life misses like this can not be afforded.

This car only existed due to the Opel connection as Durope was Wagon friendly but that is now changing to more CUzv models as they are rapidly taking the markets there.

  2. What is the point of offering about a $7,000 rebate when there are none within hundreds of miles from home?

    Reply
    1. I just checked and you’re totally wrong about this. There are actually like 3 or 4, all hundreds of miles from me in other states.

Maybe these discounts will help the handful of dealers get rid of them.

      1. There probably base models which are excluded from the cash incentive.

    2. Mark if you want one they would be more than happy to do a dealer trade to get it sold. Hence the$7k off.

Also if you want one bad enough you would have already bought one already…right?

      1. C8.R,
In response to your question to Mark, in my case the answer is NO, for the reasons I have mentioned elsewhere in another reply.

ALSO, Since I began thinking about getting an all wheel drive vehicle to add to the family “fleet,” I have seen numerous ads for Kia, Toyota, Dodge, Jeep, Ford, Chevrolet, Range Rover, Nissan … getting the picture?
I have yet to see a Buick ad.

FINALLY, how do you like your C8?
I absolutely love my C7, but will have to see and drive a C8convertible before I would buy one.

Many years ago, I worked with a man who pre-ordered a new Cadillac every year. He HAD to have the newest one in town. When I asked him once, “What if you don’t like it?” he replied, “Why wouldn’t I like it? it’s a Cadillac!”

He had the first Cimarron in town.

  3. I like the Regal TourX a lot. Did from Day one.
But I still to this day think they should have had an Air Suspension so that it could be sporty like GM wanted it to be but also can go against the Segment Leader Subaru Legacy Outback. But GM sold Opel off which they had no clue how to run as PSA showed us very quickly. I think a TourX Buick would be great in their lineup but it will be no more.

    1. Beautiful wagon & something I’d consider buying if I had the need. GM made a terrible mistake selling Opel instead of buying highly profitable PSA, going global again, and gaining CEO Taveres .

You are 100% right. No idea why GM not only sold off Opel but gave up on Europe.

        Reply
        1. You really have no idea? They never made GM any money and with labor laws such as they are in Europe it was a nightmare for them to run.

They should have gotten rid of it decades ago. Let PSA play whatever financial games they want to make it look profitable, GM certainly didn’t need it.

  4. GM and Buick MAY have screwed up the Regal TourX.
    Maybe not.
    I have not driven one.
I have never seen one, at a dealership or even on the road.
I don’t recall ever having seen an ad, in the press or on TV.
    GM doesn’t advertise them,dealers don’t stock them … .
Do they know it’s a piece of crap?
Then why continue to build them in China?
On a TV documentary about a retired GM big shot, he saiid that Buick quality had improved so greatly because the Chinese wouldn’t put up with the crap they were pushing in the U.S. market.
    Nice.
So why not continue the TourX in the U.S.?
    No ads, no interest.
No interest, no reason to stock them.
    No stock, no sales.
No sales, no reason to build them..
    Perfectly logical, by GM reasoning.
I knew of the existence of the TourX.
I was interested in buying one, even before the $7,000 discount.
$7,000 off is an enticing offer.
I would have bought an AWD TourX , if I had had the opportunity to drive one first.
But I can’t justify, even to my Buick-loving self, spending $40,000 or more on a car I might (or might not) like.
    No TourX for me.

    1. I saw one on the road once. Once.
I’ve always assumed that paying the French to build a car for them in Germany and shipping it here might not be so profitable, so they just didn’t bother with advertising.

Then again, how much capacity do you need for a brand like Buick that nobody is going to buy anyway?

      Reply
  5. Given GM’s less than stellar history with support of captive imports, I’d not buy one even if I could fit in one. Yes, I have seen them. I even managed to squeeze into it and take it for a ride. It’s a whale of a nice car, but: captive import from GM = no parts and no service within very few years.

    Reply
    1. If you can barely squeeze into a Buick station wagon, then you’re probably too large for even a Tahoe or Suburban.

      1. Then, you’ve never seen the wagon in question. I’ve owned three Tahoes and fit just fine, thsnk you very much.

    2. The Gentle Grizzly,
Are you sure you’ve got the right car?
Buick’s (and Cadillac’s) infatuation with names that confuse rather than identify models have me baffled. Envision. Encore. Evoq. Enclave. Escala. Mystiq (Reads “Mistake” at a fast glance). Celestiq.
BTW, what’s with the cutesy spellings?
I’d almost welcome a return to their stupid alpha-numeric designations. At least I know what “WTF” means.
And for every dumb-ass model, they could add a number.
So WTF-2 would follow WTF-1, and come before WTF-3 in the pecking order.

      Just venting.

      1. The really sad bit is that there are a lot of memorable Buick and Cadillac car names they could be using, but of course they’d have to come up with memorable cars to put them on.

      2. I’m referring to the Regal-looking station wagon model. Other Buick CUVs? The console in the Enclave is MASSIVE and in my way, or I’d have bought one on the spot. I won’t even look at an Envision because I will not buy a Chinese car. The Encore has very high doors, making it a breeze to get into; likely one of the easiest on the market. The center box-like thing for storage is in my way.

  6. GM just needs to take Buick out in the woods and shoot and bury it. No one buys Buicks any way

    Reply
    1. True, but I wouldn’t put it that way. They buy a lot them in China.
Really there is no reason to keep Buick in North America if they aren’t going to sell anything.
And it isn’t like GM has 5 or 6 brands to deal with. They are down to just 3. What’s the deal? Is it that hard to come up with enough product for them?

Actually now that I think about it, of course it isn’t. There are plenty of interesting Buicks in China and Chevrolets in Latin America. Just not here.

    2. Should have kept Buick in China but let the U.S. and Canada keep Pontiac. Those were actually selling.

Best I could find in a time critical search was a white one in Pennsylvania or one of the Carolinas.

      1. Lol, I saw the white one in Pennsylvania when I searched earlier too.
Imagine two guys, one in Michigan and one in New York trying to decide if it’s worth the trip to Pennsylvania to pick up a car!

There are hardly any around and they are still going for a discount.

        1. Nate,
Thanks, I appreciate your reply. You can have the white one; living in snow country, I have an irrational aversion to snow colored cars.
(We had a new snowfall May 15th this year. I am new to the area, but have been told that 2019 – 2020 was a mild winter.
ALSO, I see that somebody downvoted your answer to my question.
I have seen several seemingly innocuous texts downvoted, including some of my own.
If the anonymous downers would be so kind as to tell me what was wrong, I would be able to try to avoid any bad texts in the future.
But I think it’s just one troll.
          Thanks again, Nate.

          1. I don’t worry about downvotes. Just say what you know is true and you’ll get downvotes from people that don’t like the truth.
You can literally pull a sales figure from Wikipedia to answer a question and you’ll get downvotes.
I just imagine Abe Simpson yelling at a cloud when people get mad about facts.
