Buick Offers Employee Pricing To All During July 2020

General Motors is offering employee pricing to customers on all Buick models throughout the month of July as it looks to recoup some of the sales it lost throughout the first half of the year.

While employee pricing is usually only available to GM employees and those who work for a company that may have a relationship with GM, the automaker sometimes offers the same deals to the public as an incentive. This month, Buick is offering employee pricing across the board, but the offer is valid at participating dealers only and is not available with special financing rates and certain other GM discount offers. Customers who may want to combine incentives should speak to their dealer, as these transactions can get fairly complicated.

Employee pricing is available on all Buick models, including the Encore, Encore GX, Envision, Enclave, Regal and Regal TourX. On the Encore, Envision, Regal and Regal TourX, employee pricing is not offered on the entry-level 1SV model. The Encore GX and Encore are not available in 1SV trim, though Buick does not mention any caveats for receiving employee pricing on the base-level Preferred trim level for either the Encore GX or the Enclave. Similar to the Chevrolet Open Road Sales event, customers will be able to take retail delivery of the vehicle by August 3rd or earlier.

Many automakers will be looking to recoup sales in the coming months with enticing offers after the COVID-19 pandemic caused major headaches for the auto industry in Q1 and Q2. GM’s Q2 sales were down 34% in the second quarter of 2020, with Buick as a brand down 36 percent to 35,520 units. While not an ideal performance, this was still stronger than GM’s Cadillac brand, which saw sales freefall by 41.4 percent to only 23,296 units in Q2.

  1. When employee pricing offered to everyone it is very disheartening to the folks who are employees. I mean kind of takes away one of the benefits of being an employee when you give it to anyone. That being said the current employee discount pales in comparison to what it was 30 years ago or so. You could get enough off to buy a vehicle, keep it a couple of years and then end up trading it in for what you bought it for.
