Last week, we covered the news that the 2021 Chevrolet Malibu was set to offer a new Sport Edition Package, which adds several blacked-out aesthetics upgrades to the midsize sedan. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2021 Malibu will also come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as part of its infotainment offerings.
The 2021 Chevrolet Malibu will come equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard on every trim level. As a reminder, the 2021 Malibu’s trim structure is identical to that of the 2020 model year, listed from base to range-topper as L, LS, RS, LT, and Premier.
The 2021 Chevrolet Malibu is one of several GM models set to receive the feature as the automaker rolls out wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across multiple 2021 model year vehicles. As we covered previously, the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer was the first GM model to offer it. Check out our previous rollout coverage for a more complete list of GM vehicles set to offer the feature.
With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto setting the benchmark for automotive-smartphone connectivity, anything to make the connection even easier will surely be appreciated by customers. Operating the system is simple – after pairing the vehicle infotainment to a compatible smartphone, simply get into the vehicle with the phone, and go. The system will automatically connect and provide the Apple CarPlay / Android Auto interface for added functionality.
Additionally, pairing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with inductive phone charging makes for a truly cable-free experience, with no wires needed to keep the phone connected and charged up. That said, the 2021 Chevrolet Malibu only offers wireless device charging on the range-topping Premier model. Those with the lower trims will still need a cable if they wish to charge their phone on the move.

That’s an excellent addition for the Malibu. Every Chevrolet should have it.
When will the Malibu get key safety systems included not optional as is the case now. The Malibu is the only mid-sized sedan without these features standard equipment.
will the new Tracker be sold in USA soon?
What will replace the Malibu after the 2021 model?
A Crossover of course. What else? Naturally you can go to any competitor other than Ford or FCA as they are all still making mid size cars from VW, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai/Kia, Mazda and Nissan. Even Subaru has the Legacy in AWD!
I wonder if this tech can be added to slightly older vehicles, like those with plug in versions of the apps and wifi built in
I own a Chevy Cruze Premier. I absolutely love the car. All the features, great milage, and good looks too. So sad they stopped making them here! The Malibu I’m sure it’s a great value also and Wireless Car Play will make it even more attractive.
Yep, I like my LTZ. No complaints.
