The all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade debuted back in February with a ground-up redesign that ushers in a fresh fifth generation. With new styling, a new cabin design, and a raft of cutting-edge features and technology, the new Escalade once again sets the standard as Caddy’s flagship luxury SUV. Now, prospective buyers and curious fans can spec theirs to taste using the official online configurator.
There are five trim levels to choose from, listed from base model to range-topper as Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. The Premium Luxury and Sport are also available with the Platinum Package, which adds in heaps of high-end content.
Under the hood, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade is offered with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gas engine as standard, but, as we were first to report in April, the turbodiesel 3.0L I6 LM2 Duramax is also offered as a no-cost option. Output from the V8 gas engine is rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, while the diesel is rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both powerplants connect to the GM Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission as standard. Either RWD or 4WD can be specified to put the power to the pavement.
Numerous packages are on offer as well, with highlights including the Driver Assist Tech Package, which adds in things like Adaptive Air Ride suspension, illuminating sill plates, soft-close doors, and more. There’s also the Onyx Package, which adds in 22-inch wheels, monochromatic Cadillac emblems, a puddle lamp with the Cadillac crest, and a glossy black Escalade nameplate.
The Super Cruise semi-autonomous drive system is expected to have late availability, and will cost between $2,500 and $6,150, depending on the trim. Diesel models will go into production three months after the Start of Regular Production (SORP).

I really like the new design overall except for the headlights. I wish they had used something similar to the past designs. (It stated Cadillac) Now I find it looks a little too much like the Tahoe headlights…
I have the EXACT same feeling, you knew a Cadillac coming towards you in the opposite direction because the headlights were a STAPLE of an excellent design. They made a horrible mistake abandoning such a UNIQUE design.
I agree, the headlamp change is a mistake. After all the surveys GM made, owners said they loved the vertical headlamps and tail lamps. This set the Escalade apart and made a statement. So, what do they do, put horizontal funky headlamps in. (gotta change something on the 2021 model)! Plus, 2015-2020 the door chrome was in the middle of the doors, which protects the door from hits from other peoples doors. So, to change the design in the form of “New designed” new model, they moved the door chrome to the bottom quarter of the doors. Looks like hell and now you have no door protection. What were they thinking? Hopefully the new interior design and upgrades will product some sales.
how about the 2022 escalade configurator ?? also what happened to the “power steps” ? thanks John
