No doubt about it, this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette stands out from the crowd. With a flared-out, ultra-wide stance, bright red paintwork, and a list of custom details, there’s no doubt this two-door will turn heads no matter when it goes. And now, it’s listed for sale.
The biggest attention-grabber has to be the way this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette looks. The curvaceous factory lines of the original C3 have been enhanced with an Eckler Turbo Design body kit, which throws in wider fenders, a vented hood, new bumpers, and a new rear wing.
The end result gives this Chevrolet Corvette a sort of IMSA racing style, but the styling upgrades don’t stop there. The whole thing is draped in bright red paint, which is complemented by dark red, orange and yellow striping down the sides. The stripes follow the lines of the car, rising and falling along the pumped-up fenders. Under the doors is a set of side exhaust pipes, while multi-spoke wheels and recessed headlamps with clear plexiglass coverings finish it off.
It’s a pretty wild look, and as expected, the interior also gets a few unique touches to match. The upholstery is done up in red vinyl, while black and chrome accents offset. Above is a T-Top with blue-tinted glass.
Keeping it comfy inside is air conditioning, power windows, and cruise control.
Motivation is derived from the 350 cubic-inch (5.7L) V8 L82 engine, which connects to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Power steering and power brakes help this Chevrolet Corvette maneuver through the corners.
This custom 1978 Chevrolet Corvette shows 39,334 miles on the odometer. Now, it’s listed for sale by GR Auto Gallery at $28,900.
