We’ve featured no shortage of cool Chevrolet C10 trucks on the website this month. First, it was the track-day ready race truck built by Level 7 Motorsports and then we turned attention to another Level 7 project vehicle – a slightly older Chevrolet C10 with a 6.2L LS3 V8 and a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission.
Now YouTube’s Autopia L.A. is getting in on the fun after featuring a turbocharged, LS-powered Chevrolet C10 on its channel. This truck is the definition of a sleeper thanks to its rusty front bumper, mismatched body panels, unpainted bondo, peeling paint and bone stock interior. If one didn’t know any better, they’d think this was just a battered old square body with some aftermarket wheels and a lowering kit.
There’s a lot more to this truck than suspension and wheels, though. Under the hood is a 5.3L LM7 V8 that has been upgraded with ported cylinder heads, a hot camshaft, forged pistons and a Turbonetics turbocharger, which is good for roughly 550 horsepower to the wheels. The owner says he and the builder were apprehensive to add any more power, as he still wanted it to have good drivability and reliability. The reason? He uses it to tow a first-generation Camaro show car. Talk about a cool tow vehicle!
This truck also features full Ridetech air ride suspension, which can be controlled through an application on the owner’s phone. He can even adjust the height of the front and rear while the vehicle is in motion, allowing him to quickly lift the nose for a speed bump or a steep parking lot entrance ramp, for example. US Mag alloy wheels and four-piece Classic Performance Products front brakes with new rear drums complete this unique and unsuspecting performance package.
