General Motors built only a select number of Cadillac CT6-V models after the CT6’s model lifecycle was cut short earlier this year. Despite this, there are a surprising amount of Cadillac CT6-V models sitting on dealership lots across the country just waiting for a V-Series enthusiast to come along and experience what it’s like to let loose in the 550 horsepower luxury sedan.
One dealership that was lucky enough to receive a Cadillac CT6-V allotment was Henessy Cadillac in Duluth, Georgia. The dealership currently has a 2019 model year CT6-V listed for sale online for a very reasonable $79,990 – quite a bit less than the $95,000 MSRP. Why is this particular CT6-V so cheap, one may ask? Well, this car isn’t entirely new, as it was formerly a GM display car. It’s not clear what kind of shows or events GM showcased this car at, but it seems likely it made its rounds at auto shows in certain parts of the country before it ended up in Hennessy’s possession.
While it may be lightly used, this car is still like-new. It has just 528 miles on the odometer, according to the listing, and has no knicks, scratches or imperfections. This makes it the perfect vehicle for the Cadillac enthusiast who may have wanted a Cadillac CT6-V, but didn’t want to shell out $95,000 or more to put a brand new one in their garage. This car, which is painted Manhattan Noir Metallic and features Dark Auburn upholstery, was also ordered with the Driver Assist Package, which adds Adaptive Cruise Control, Enhanced Night Vision and Front and Rear Automatic Braking.
As a reminder, the 2019 and 2020 model year Cadillac CT6-V is powered by GM’s twin-turbocharged 4.2L LTA V8 engine, which is good for 550 horsepower and a whopping 640 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive, the 4.2L V8 can propel the big luxury sedan from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and will carry it all the way to a vision-blurring 200 mph.

This is a classic example of what happens when you build a product that people didn’t really want and is yet another costly mistake on the part of General Motors CEO Mary Barra; consumers were expecting something totally different from the CT6 and to this day has been a stinker.
Omegatalon:
Wrong……..yet again.
The CT6 was begun and approved for production by Dan Ackerson nearly 10 years ago.
So what. Why didn’t anyone buy it? The reasons run deep
If you own a gas station, perfect vehicle, cause you be looking for gas sooner that expected.
MPG 13?
I own one. Average fuel economy so far 24.5
Awesome vehicle, but that is not a $95,000 interior.
I agree.
The exterior is very handsome, but I wonder if things would have been different if a more daring approach might have been used.
But the interior is where I think the car “fell down”. It looks and feels like other Cadillac interiors, yes. That’s not a bad thing in itself. But I feel a big opportunity was missed to really show what Cadillac was capable of, equal to the engineering that went into the car. (I believe GM holds some patents on certain processes it invented for the Omega platform). The interior is nice. But I wish it had been GREAT.
$95,000? Please. I could find a Bentley for that price. The interior of this car looks too worn and cheap considering the car’s young age. However GM has had a problem with making decent interiors because they refuse to use good materials. This car was listed at $95,000. No excuse for an embarrassing interior like that. The early CTS had a better interior than that.
Love the name and the comments. The CT6 “could” have been awesome… GM is managed by cheap losers and this fantastic vehicle was marginalized. If they’d spent $500 more on the interior it could have been amazing but GM is pathetic. If it has the 2T-6 as standard and the V8 as next step, who knows but a 4cyl? Seriously…. UFB… The reason this car continues to not sell even with the V8 is everyone knows its yet another “FIRST EVER” that is also the last ever… no one wants an orphan… GM is pathetic…
There are quite a few new 2019 models that can be had for less than $10K more; I’d go with one of those personally.
Sam, Cadillac states 0-60 of 3.8. Additionally 3 magazine road tests also show 3.8!
This is a typical GM blunder machine of epic proportions. Spend large sums of money on what is arguably one of there best ever designed sedans. Then spend more on an engine that would compete with the best of Germany, never advertised or promote the car beyond it’s brief intro, give it a subpar interior, overprice it, slowly kill off trim levels and engines and then close the doors for good because it doesn’t sell. This will go down in the history books as another example in a long line of GM blunders that cost the company big yet never lived up to it’s hype or potential. And that is a damn shame because this car deserved so much better than the treatment it got from Barra and clowns!
100% to Joe’s comments above. Great car, outstanding performance, good looking. Priced about 20k too high with an interior befitting a car half it’s price. Plus, the lower trim levels of the CT6 are powered by 2 of GM’s most underwhelming engines, the 2.0 Turbo and the 3.6L V6. Both those engines are available in 20k fleet level sedans and are not befitting of the Cadillac brand. GM, please treat Cadillac and their clientele with the respect deserved or kill the brand and focus on trucks and cheap transportation appliances. Or better yet, fold Cadillac and the Corvette team together as they seem able of developing and building a world-class product,
