Just recently, GM Authority was first to bring you exclusive photos of Chevy’s updated 2021 Colorado pickup truck in Z71 trimmings. A few days later, we showed you the facelifted 2021 Colorado LT, followed by the Colorado Work Truck. And now, we’ve managed to get our hands on a photo of the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado Red Line Special Edition, marking the first time we’ve seen this version of Chevy’s updated midsize pickup truck.
Pictured here in Extended Cab configuration and finished in a shiny coat of Summit White paint, the Colorado Red Line is a special package that was originally introduced on the Colorado for the 2018 model year. The package is offered exclusively on the LT trim level, in either 2WD or 4WD models. Because of its LT-derived roots, the Colorado Red Line gets the new grille with the updated center bars, along with a new lower fascia and an updated skid plate. But instead of the gold Chevrolet bow tie logo typically installed on the 2021 Colorado LT, this model gets a Black bowtie and grille bar instead.
Another distinctive element of the 2021 Colorado Red Line Special Edition are unique 18-inch aluminum wheels with red hash marks (RPO code RSZ), along with red recovery hooks and black-out exterior trim. A set of rounded off-road step bars and a spray-on bedliner round out the package.
It’s also worth noting that the truck pictured here is wearing a set of front fog lamps, which on the LT trim are only included when the LT Convenience Package is ordered. This package also adds a rear window defogger, rear-sliding window, remote vehicle starter system, and heated, power-adjustable, body-color, manual-folding outside mirrors.
Compared to a “regular” Colorado LT on which it’s based, the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado Red Line Special Edition provides a subtle yet noticeable level of differentiation.
Meanwhile, the updated 2021 looks quite different compared to the pre-facelifted model, since the front fascia is substantially different. However, the headlamps remain the same between the 2015-2020 and 2021 models.
We don’t have a photo of the rear end (yet), but it will look identical to that of the regular 2021 Colorado LT, pictured below.
We’ll have more on the 2021 Colorado in the days ahead, so be sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Chevrolet Colorado news, Chevrolet news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

Will a 10 speed transmission be an option in 2021?
No.
Ron – no 10-speed is planned for this generation Colorado (or Canyon).

The 2.7l I4 turbo was made for this truck! Come on GM! Lets do it!
Rather than red Hash Marks on the wheels … how about a Syclone Edition for the Chevy… that doesn’t cost as much as a Corvette..??
Or put the Syclone Engine package IN a Corvette, and add a trailer hitch, so we can haul some stuff around with it… other than just Hauling A** .. LOL !!
Put a V8 in it like the 1st Gens!
