The 2020 Corvette coupe can provide owners with unlimited headroom and the thrill of open-air motoring thanks to its removable roof top panel. Now, we’re getting a walkthrough of how the coupe’s roof top panel is disconnected and stored in the following Corvette Academy video.
Similar to the other videos in the Corvette Academy series, this video is brief, clocking in at just a little over two minutes in length. The video includes voiceover narration outlining what’s needed to remove the 2020 Corvette coupe roof panel, as well as an actress that demonstrates how it’s done.
To remove the 2020 Corvette coupe roof panel, first park the vehicle, lower the sun visors and windows, turn the engine off, and set the parking brake. From there, the rear hatch should be opened, and any items stored in the rear trunk behind the engine should be removed in order to provide enough room to store the roof top panel.
Next, unhinge the three release handles that secure the roof to the structure of the 2020 Corvette. Two of these are located near the sun visors, while the third is towards the rear of the vehicle. With each release handle unhinged, press the button on the rear handle, and lift the roof top panel up and forward from the structure of the vehicle.
The roof panel can now be stored in the rear hatch. The rear pins should slide into their respective receivers first, after which each front corner can be pushed into their respective receivers. These should click in, signaling that the roof panel is now secured inside the rear hatch.
To reinstall the roof panel, make sure the vehicle is parked and the windows are down. Then pull the panel away from the upper receivers, and place it on top of the roof. Make sure the weather stripping is underneath the panel to ensure a tight fit, then pull down each release handle to lock it in place.

I can’t wait for Chevrolet to introduce a video telling owners of the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette on the proper way to pump gas into the car or if there is a best time to buy gas.
