Strap yourself into the cabin space of the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8, and you’ll find yourself literally surrounded by modern technology, including cutting-edge infotainment features, as we’ve covered previously. What’s more, drivers stay informed thanks to the 2020 Corvette Digital Instrument Display, the operation of which is highlighted in the following Corvette Academy video.
The 2020 Corvette comes standard with this 12-inch diagonal electronic gauge cluster display, while head-up display is optional. Both readouts are customizable in terms of their look, layout, and the info displayed.
The controls on the right side of the steering wheel are used to scroll through the main menus, while the thumbwheel navigates within each menu. Pressing the thumbwheel will open a menu or select an option.
The 2020 Corvette Digital Instrument Display comes with numerous menus, including Trip Computer, Performance, Audio, Maintenance, and Options. There’s also an option to Simplify the Display.
Most of these are pretty obvious. The Trip Computer provides info on fuel economy, trip timer, and the current drive cycle, while the Performance menu provides a 0-to-60 mph timer, lap timer, and g-force meter that measures lateral and longitudinal acceleration. The Audio menu selects the songs or radio station desired, and the maintenance menu provides a readout on the engine oil and transmission fluid life, as registered in percentages.
The Options menu gives the user the ability to customize the look of the 2020 Corvette Digital Instrument Display using different display types and themes, as correlated to the Vette’s various drive modes (Tour, Sport, Track, Weather). These display types will show when their respective drive mode is selected, but the user can alternatively pick a specific display type for all drive modes, if desired.
There’s also a number of info tiles that the user can select for further customization of the info presented. The Track Mode display comes with four info tiles, while other display types get two tiles.
If there’s too much info on the 2020 Corvette Digital Instrument Display, select Simplify the Display. Alternatively, if you want more info, go for the optional Head-Up Display, which can cycle through multiple display types to customize the info desired by the user.

Chevrolet’s next video for the C8 Corvette is how to unlock the door lock and get into the Corvette.
Enough of the video-game dashboards. I freely admit this shows my age, but, here goes: Tach, speedo, fuel gauge, temperature, oil pressure, and ammeter or voltmeter, and the rest can be brought up in some thing between the tach and speedo if you want. The rest is just Nintendo/Sega/PlayStation gimmickry.
